COVID-19 UPDATE Unfortunately, as one of our local schools has closed due to confirmed cases, the squadron WILL NOT PARADE this evening, as advised.
All cadets, staff and parents are encouraged to follow NHS advice, self-isolate where necessary. Please DO NOT attend the squadron when we reopen if you are feeling at all unwell as it will result in further closures.

Happy International Women’s Day! We are an organisation that is predominantly male. So today we want to celebrate our incredible women and their achievements, but we refuse to forget those who support cadets and staff regardless of gender. Those who promote and genuinely believe in equality make things possible for all of us, thank you! #AirCadets #WhatWeDo #IWD2020 #InternationalWomensDay #WeAreRoyton #Shooting #Skill #VentureAdventure

The first shoot ever for some of our cadets! 7 cadets passed CLF1 last night. Cdt Ford achieved a score of 95/100. Well done all. #Shooting #Skill #Discipline #WeAreRoyton #Ubiquitous Greater Manchester Wing North Region Regional Commandant North Love Royton, Shaw and Crompton

Successful annual presentation evening last night. We must say a big thank you to Farmers Choice Butchers in Shaw. Lee, Janine and Hannah worked hard to feed over 90 people last night with incredible food and we really appreciate it! Thanks!

A huge happy 50th birthday to our Squadron Warrant Officer, Simon Pogson! Thank you for a combined 37 years of dedication to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and the RAF Regiment. We don’t know exactly how much of that was spent “ninja-napping” but we know we are lucky to have your experience and knowledge at 1855 (Royton). From the whole extended 1855 family, happy birthday and thank you. Here’s to the next half century! #Ubiquitous #PerArdua #WeAreRoyton #HappyBirthday #WhatWeDo

You have control of our Inter-flight competition this month! Cadets had fun last night and we can confirm nothing but baubles were injured in the making of our trees. Which is your favourite? You control the winning flight by selecting your favourite photo and giving it a like! Competition ends in 24 hours... GO! 🎄

This is our squadron memorial stone with the names of five cadets who gave the ultimate sacrifice. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. #WeWillRememberThem

Behind the scenes!! The squadron band are working really hard today to be ready for the Remembrance Sunday Parade tomorrow. Join us at the squadron at 10:15 for our service before we march down to Royton Park for the 11:00 service. Don’t forget you are welcome to join us back at the squadron for hot drinks and biscuits afterwards! #Remembrance #WeWillRememberThem #WeAreRoyton #Ubiquitous Greater Manchester Wing Regional Commandant North Love Royton, Shaw and Crompton

We’re 27 hours away from the bonfire! It may be a bit chilly, so we have tasty hot drinks available to purchase, BUT if you bring a travel mug with you, we’ll fill it as much as you want for free! 🔥🌱🌍 #WeAreRoyton #Ubiquitous #Bonfire2019 #Eco #Coffee #Tea #Bovril #HotChoc #Vimto

🔥🔥 BONFIRE FAQs! 🔥🔥 1. Can I park at the squadron? -unfortunately no, we don’t have enough space here. We recommend you leave your car near the park and walk up. 2. Are the public invited? -YES! Everyone is invited! 3. Do cadets come in uniform? -No, this is a fully civilian clothing event! If you are from a different squadron and want free entry, bring your 3822. 4. Can I buy a ticket? -No, we just charge £3 admission on the gate, final entry is 7pm.... 5. What time is the bonfire? -We will be lighting the bonfire before 7pm so we recommend you get here on time. The fireworks are planned for between 7-7:30pm.
Any other questions? Please ask below and we’ll try and answer as soon as possible! 🔥
