Yet another busy weekend for cadets of Rossendale Sqn.
On Saturday, 4 cadets and 1 member of staff travelled up to Altcar to take part in some Clay Target shooting. Whilst 4 other cadets remained at the sqn to recieve weapons training on the L98a2 Cadet rifle.
Today 2 cadets travelled to Witton Park in Blackburn to compete in the Inter-wing cross country. Our Junior boys came 2nd and overall Cumbria and Lancashire Wing came 3rd!
... A massive well done to everyone this weekend.

Today 4 Rossendale cadets and a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer (CFAV) conducted weapons training on the L98A2 cadet rifle.
The training and assesment was delivered by 2 of Cumbria and Lancashire Wing's Service Instructors who are currently regulars in the Royal Air Force Regiment.
Service Instructors are great assets to the Air Cadet Organisation as a whole due to their up to date knowledge and operational experiences in a wide range of Military skills.
... Service instructors are the Subject Matter Experts within their trades whilst serving in the Royal Air Force and the ACO is extremely lucky to have dedicated individuals who want to give something back to the next generation of potential service men and women.
Some of the many skills these individuals possess allow them to instruct on Drill, Weapons Training, Range Management, Fieldcraft, First Aid and much more.

Annual dinner and Awards evening!
On Friday 23 November, we celebrated the achievements of every young person at our Squadron with many winning awards and some Cadets stepping up with Promotions.
We would just like to say a massive well done to all of our Cadets. They are amazing young people.
... A massive Thankyou to all our Staff, Committee and Parents for helping us have an amazing year.
Here's just a few things we've achieved this year. • We raised £4849 for the Royal British Legion • We came Second overall at our Wing Training Day • Promoted our first Cadet Warrant Officer in over 5 years •And we've got our first ever Minibus!
A special Thankyou to Green Slate Trophies for engraving our trophies once again. And Kerry Hargreaves Photography for taking pictures throughout the night.

🌹Poppy Collection Total🌹
Over the last couple of weekends our cadets have been selling poppies and and collect money on behalf of the Royal British Legion.
In total our cadets raised a massive £4849.08!
... We absolutely smashed last year's total.

We Will Remember Them.

It's only half way through August and we've already done so much this month!
We've had 4 Cadets complete their Bronze D of E qualifier and 2 of our NCOs complete their Gold D of E qualifier. We also had 2 Staff members helping with Greater Manchester Wing - Air Training Corps D of E expeds.
1 lucky cadet Jetted off to Germany on an overseas camp.
... 7 cadets travelled to RAF Boulmer for this year's Summer camp.
8 Cadets Flying a Tutor aircraft and majority of those received their Blue wings.
7 cadets passed their basic swimming proficiency.
And this evening we've had The RAF Careers team down at the squadron delivering a presentation and a very informative chat about Careers and life in the Royal Air Force.
We've got so much more to do!

Over the Bank Holiday Weekend, Rossendale Air Cadets once again teamed up with Burnley Air Cadets and headed over to Chipping Steam Fair to assist the organisers with the marshalling and parking of around 3800 cars of the visiting public.
The beautiful weather over the weekend saw a huge influx of visitors to the fair and the 35 cadets and 7 members of staff were pushed pretty hard to get them all parked up quickly and safely.
Approximately 10000 people visited the Fair over... the 3 day event, which is an annual event occurring the last weekend in May every year.

Well what a superb day it has been for Rossendale Air Cadets at the Cumbria and Lancashire Wing Wing Training Day in Kirkham.
The cadets competed against 31 other squadrons in Foot Drill, Banner Drill, First Aid, Flight Simulator, Aircraft Recognition, BFMA Dart, Photography, and Model Making.
Where we placed in all of these events is not known yet however what we do know is that we came 1st in the flight simulator competition.
... MOST IMPORTANTLY DUE TO SCORING HIGH ACROSS THE BOARD, WE CAME SECOND OVERALL!
A great day all around with some extremely proud staff and cadets.

This year's Banner Drill Team have just completed their Banner Drill sequence at The Cumbria and Lancashire Wing Wing Training Day at Kirkham Grammar School.

Today Rossendale Air Cadets are traveling to Kirkham Grammar School to take part in the Cumbria and Lancashire Wing Wing Training Day.
The day will see the squadron compete against 31 other squadrons from across the two counties in an array of different areas.
