Happy Birthday to one of our Cubs; celebrating whilst on camp last weekend
So what did the cubs and their friends do in a 23 hour sleepover at the hut? Firstly the cubs planned their own camp a few weeks ago, deciding on what activities to do and what the menu should be. Then on the day they made pizza, made chocolate cake in oranges, made a fire to cook them on, played lots of games, slept in tents (it was too cold to sleep outside so we pitched them in the hall) made paracord keyrings, talked about their hobbies and sports they played (for various badges) celebrated 1 birthday and invested a new member in to the pack.
Great start to troop night yesterday when a representative of the Sidcup Rotary Club came and presented an award to Alfie to help fund his attendance at the World Scout Jamboree in the US this summer. Then on to clay work making tea light holders for our craft activity badges.

How many beavers does it take to make a packet of ketchup float? #sciencebadge
from 10th feb in lidl they have hiking essentials stuff. There are head torches and daysacks but these micro fibre towels are great for scout camps. Lightweight, small and they dry quickly - well worth grabbing if your scout is going on camp with the troop this summer.

Well done to all the beavers, cubs and scouts who gave up their free time on a Saturday to bag pack and raise funds for the group. They all worked really hard and kept smiling all day.

Wee bit of Scotland at scouts tonight as we celebrated Burns Night with Haggis and home made oat cakes and shortbread.
The Cubs are having a weekend of fun and activities Based at our HQ in Rectory Lane, Sidcup, we have loads of games and fun activities planned. Cubs will be making the own pizza for Diner, but first they need to light a fire to cook them on (with a little help from the Leaders).
As we currently have a few places for new members to join, if Cubs would like to invite any of their friend(s) to join us they are very welcome to come along and find out what cubs do.
... Friends need to be aged 7.5 to 10 and not currently belong to another cub pack.
More info is on OSM or just speak to any of our leaders
If you know anyone who has children that may be interested in joining our cubs please pass on this event, it would be a great way for them to meet the cubs and leaders and find out what cubs is all about.
