1St Ince And Elton Description
Ince and Elton Scouts became official in 1949. It has been based in Ince, Thornton le Moores and for the past 40plus years in the Scout Hut at School Lane.
The Group as all Scout groups are is self-funding, therefore fundraising is a vital part of scouting life.
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are lead by a team of 10 Leaders and three young leaders, who run the weekly sessions and organised fantastic activities and camping trips for our young people. They are supported by a committee of an additional 6 adult volunteers. other parents also get involved from time to time.
The Group has grown significantly over recent years and 2017 saw its 11th year of continuous growth.
We provide a foc Bonfire and Fireworks display to the village annually, with the support of local businesses. We also support the Parish council when we can with activities such as planting.
Currently, we are looking to refurbish the Scout Hut as it is in desperate need of an upgrade and does not do the children justice. We are looking to fundraising, grants and any other assistance from local people to help us with this.
We welcome anyone who would like to be involved, young and old, as fundamentally scouting is FUN!

SCOUTS: Parents of Scouts on Winter Camp, we will be closing camp at 2pm tomorrow. Please park at Blakmere and walk into the campsite for this time. Unfortunately phone signal is limited, Marshall’s should be at blakmere to direct you.
SCOUTS: Just a quick reminder for those who are NOT attending the Winter Camp this weekend - there is no Scouts meeting this evening. We're back as usual next Friday at the HQ.
A quick reminder about our upcoming Quiz and Curry Night!!
SCOUTS: Just a quick note that despite announcing last week that we would be at Queen Charlottes Wood this evening, due to the expected forecast - we have made the decision to postpone this.
As such, we will be meeting in the HQ as normal this evening.
Following the success of our first ever Quiz and Curry Night last year, we're very pleased to announce that it's back for 2019!!
It will be held at the Elton Church Hall on Saturday 9th February from 7pm and is once again hosted by Jase Edwards. It'll be followed by a disco.
Tickets are £6 per adult which includes Quiz entry and Curry voucher.
... There will also be a licensed bar!
This fundraiser is open to the community and we would like to see as many teams entering as possible of up to 8 Adults.You can put together your own team or come along and we will see to it...the put together team won last year!
