A very intersting evening for Rossett Cubs tonight they had a visitor who talked to them about the Sikh faith, culture and festivals. They tried Jalebis, a coil shaped dough fried and dipped in sugar syrup before decorating a candle with their own designs for Diwali.
First meeting of the autumn term for Rossett Cubs and they got straight to work building ovens to cook pitta pizzas on.
Just 3 photos from Rossett Cubs Superhero camp which was held at Sconce Campsite over the last 2 nights. The 10 Cubs who attended should be fast asleep now.......more pics once weve gathered them all together.
Last wednesday Rossett Cubs finished the term/year with a water fight before having a BBQ and a campfire which was expertily led by some of our senior Cubs. Thanks for a great year of Scouting you have all been exceptional. See you in September,
Harlow Cubs finished the term in style, defying the rain and getting soaking wet anyway! Finley, Alfie and Ewan were invested on the fort and everyone enjoyed fish and chips.
Just a remnder that tonights Rossett Cub meeting has been postponed until next week due to a football match taking place later.
A great day of challneges, team work and fun.
16 of Rossett Cubs enjoyed a full days climbing at Brimham Rocks today. In the morning they did a bit of weaselling and scramblling before lunch then it was on to some rope work in the afternoon with some climbing up slabs and chimneys followed by abseilling. We need to thank the Harrogate Climbing Centre for an excellent days fun with special thanks to Piers and Tony for their hard work in the extreme heat
Congratulations to Lukas,Fin,Toby and Oliver of Rossett cubs who took part in the annual Cub Camping Competition at Thornthwaite this weekend and came 3rd with 169 points đź‘Ť in what was described by Tim as the closest competition in its 33 year history. There was only 40 points between bottom and top places and only 4 points between first and third place. Well done boys you did the group proud
Tonight Rossett Cubs have had a great evening Bell Boating at Boroughbridge, opening canal locks before playing some games. Everyone got a little bit wet, some got a lot wet. Sam and Ted made their promise on the Bell Boat too, another memorable promise ceremony. Huge THANKS to Craig and Steve for making the evening so enjoyable. See album Bell Boating Boroughbridge 2018 for pics of the evening.
Monday Cubs had a lovely evening for a bike ride from Spofforth to Wetherby and back with the added excitement of the relatively new pump track to try out!
Low turnout tonight (can’t think why!) but those that could tear themselves away from the World Cup had a fun evening of bikes and land rovers!!
Earlier tonight the Beaver colony had a great evening at Harrogate Climbing centre.
Last night Rossett cubs had a hike around Swinsty reservoir using the Ordance survey maps to locate themselves.
Harlow Cubs had a fab evening at Ripley Castle doing all sorts of ropes activities run by the fantastic LiveForToday
At the District AGM tonight the trophies for the District Cub Cross Country Competition were awarded. Isaiah was there to accept them on behalf of Rossett Cubs from the Mayor of Harrogate. Well done and thank you Isaiah.
Totally agree! The place to see what the 20th Group's Sections are up to. Everyone is very busy and the autumn term has only just started.
