Air cadets can join the @BigIdeasCo project Remember #RAF100 to research and remember air service personnel who lost their lives in WW1. A free database is available with details of over 4,000 RAF personnel who died during WW1 and are buried or commemorated in the UK. Funding is available to take part. Visit big-ideas.org/project/remember-raf100 or email RAF100@big-ideas.org to find out more.

The cadets tonight went to the Blackrock firearms police station for a tour, they learnt lots about how the police train and what they use and how they operate!
We would like to thank them for having us for a tour, would like to go back in the future!

8 Cadets (including 4 that have been with us for less than a week!) have today been taking part in our annual basic radio communications and BHF heartstart course. Cadets have so far learnt about wavelengths, radio equipment and military radio procedures as well as learning about the primary survey and the recovery position. After tomorrow's lessons on chocking, bleeding, chest pains and CPR our cadets will have earned themselves a blue BHF heartstart badge and have the training to save lives. In afternoon after Lessons on Radio networks, authentication, cyber awareness and an over the air assessment the cadets will earn themselves the Blue communicators badge and a basic radio operators licence! Just another weekend with 2124 (Bristol airport) squadron! #noordinaryhobby

Cadets from 2124 Squadron recently spent an exciting and enjoyable time at the Air Cadet Adventure Training Centre at Fairborne.

Last night the cadets were out doing some more Geocaching. As some of them are using it for their DofE physical section, it needs to get a little harder each time to show improvement. So they headed up onto Dundry hill to find this fun bug cache hidden in a tree, and were rewarded with some lovely views back down onto Bristol.

Some more photos from today's flying detail at MOD St Athan. The cadets were flying in Grob Tutors with No 1 AEF.

Cdt Costa off for his first flying trip. The weather is superb today.

Our parade had an emotional ending this evening as Cadet Warrant Officer Stelljes said her goodbyes to her fellow cadets. CWO Stelljes ages out in 2 weeks time but due to a week away at camp in Germany and the August bank holiday it has meant that tonight was her last official parade evening. We wish her all the best with her future endeavours. Fear not though; CWO Stelljes will immediately return as Civilian Instructor Stelljes as she is joining the staff team.

A few of our cadets this evening are being taught rifle drill. They are learning how to perform a general salute.

Another evening of off squadron training last night. 6 cadets took to the water at Clevedon lake for some Kayaking with Squadron staff. A lovely evening for it too.

Last night the cadets enjoyed a Geocaching walk around the local area. From fake rocks to rubber ducks, the global treasure hunt adds a fun twist to a navigation training walk.
