DBA 2019: Design Effectiveness Award!
22 Street Lane Nursery and Elmwood Design Ltd are delighted to have won a SILVER 2019 'Design Effectiveness Award'! We were awarded this prestigious prize during their awards ceremony in London on the 12th of June.
... Our entry was rigorously judged across three rounds and acknowledges how the compelling influence of our designs have impacted the success of our Nursery.
The DBA Awards are internationally recognised for the strength and quality of a business’ branding, which required us to provide a case supporting the design effectiveness of 22 Street Lane. The award is not only about the design, but also about how these designs make a difference.

**Like & Share** Staff Training Day;
Regularly updating our continuous professional development is highly important when working in the early year’s sector. It is fundamental that this does not get overlooked in the setting and that practitioners are continuously developing their knowledge and skills. Ofsted are very keen to see how staff training and development has an impact on the setting and the children’s learning and development.
... During our last training day at 42 The Calls Hotel, the staff took part in the following: Team Building Activities, Safeguarding Refresher, The key aspects of autism and how we can support this and Makaton Training.
We have taken away lot of ideas away with us which we will be implementing into the setting, we thank you for your continued support.

Hello Summer; It’s officially the first day of summer! Here is the Nursery garden looking very quiet on staff training day today!!..

The Giant Wiggle; fundraising for Action for Children.
22 Street Lane Nursery are joining in the wiggle-y fun and fundraising for Action for Children.
... On Wednesday 26th June, we invite all children to come to Nursery dressed in Green. Our Cygnet and Swan Children will be taking part in a Caterpillar Conga. On Friday 28th June, we will be throwing a Birthday Party for the Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Cygnets visit to Meanwood Farm.
Last week our Cygnet children had a fulfilled trip to Meanwood Valley Urban Farm. As we set off on the coach, we started the journey with some lovely renditions of ‘The Wheels on The Bus’ and ‘Old MacDonald Had a Farm’
... As we explored the farm the children spotted many different animals including Alpaca’s, Goats, Chickens and Sheep! We were even lucky enough to stroke the Rabbits!
The children had a wonderful day and we hope you enjoy looking through our photos.

Last Friday the swans children enjoyed a ‘Shabbots’ Dinner; a Jewish Tradition that is carried out every Friday night. One of the Children’s parents joined us for our meal and to show us how to light the special candles and to say customary prayers. We got to hear all about Jewish traditions, had a group discussions about the different types of traditions carried out in Judaism and how every family has different traditions, routines and customs.
We also got to enjoyed some delicious ‘Challah’ bread (a plaited loaf), that was brought in for us to enjoy with our traditional Chicken Noodle Soup.

Peppa Pig’s Muddle Puddles Walk: Chicklets.
This week our Chicklets went on their Muddy Puddles Walk to raise money for ‘Save the Children’ We took the children to Roundhay park in the buggy’s and walked to the lake. While at the lake the children ate some yummy banana and apple. On our walk back to Nursery we picked some flowers that we added to our water play activity. In the afternoon we created some Peppa Pig Muddy Puddle paintings, using brown paint and ...little pigs to create lovely pictures!

Arts Photography will be visiting on Wednesday 22nd May to take individual photos of the children. If you would like your child to have their photograph taken and they do not attend Nursery on a Wednesday, please speak to our Nursery Manager, Alex Thornton and we can allocate you a time.

Peppa Pig’s Muddy Puddles Walk: 13th - 17th May.
The 22 Street Lane Nursery children will be taking part in a Peppa Pig ‘Muddy Puddles’ sponsored walk during the week of 13th May where we are hoping to raise some money to support the charity ‘Save the Children’.
... Please speak to your child’s room leader to confirm your child’s day, each room has a parent permission form for you to sign. If your child has wellies, please ensure they bring them on the day of their walk along with a warm waterproof coat in case of rain!
