Well here it is.... Meghan and Harry's wedding cake by Violet Cakes London. I think it looks amazing.... very simple and understated..... I wondered what I would do if Megan had asked me to make her cake... my first thought was PANIC.... but looking at it I could have pulled it off.... Lemon sponge drizzled in Elderflower syrup filled with lemon curd and frosted with Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Decorated with fresh flowers. Claire Ptak, owner of east London Violet Bakery has been assisted by a team of six bakers to make the cake which has been made using 200 Amalfi lemons, 10 bottles of Sandringham elderflower cordial, 20kg of butter, 20kg of sugar and 500 organic eggs from Suffolk... Apparently there was loads of sheet cakes out back too..... I don't think this would serve many people.....
