About 3 Acres
Innovative menus combine the best of traditional English cooking with eclectic worldly influences, made from locally sourced or artisan ingredients.
3 Acres Description
The Three Acres is a welcoming, turn of the Century Drovers inn, which has been owned, maintained and developed by Neil Truelove and Brian Orme for over 30 years. Set in the rolling, green Pennine countryside to the south of Huddersfield, it has a well deserved reputation for its warm hospitality, excellent food,
professional service and tasteful accommodation.
Just ten minutes from the M1, The Three Acres is an ideal stopping off place for travellers heading north to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and Scotland. Situated in the shadow of Emley Moor TV mast, we are a mere five minutes drive from both the National Mining Museum and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is the largest in Europe. Chatsworth House, Nostell Priory, Harewood House and the Royal Armouries are all within easy driving distance.

What really made it a wonderful place to celebrate our wedding anniversary apart from the lovely room , wonderful views and yummy breakfast was the staff you should be proud of your young staff and their attitudes especially Joe and Miles thank you
Went for the first time yesterday and have to the say that it is fantastic value for money for the quality of food. The service was excellent and was nice to have a decent size table where you are not crammed in. Hoping to visit again very soon and would definitely recommend the butterscotch parfait!
Went for lunch today , nothing more to say than beautiful from the service to the food and great staff , our waiter was a young gentleman but really nice and kind and cared .....so lucky to have this restaurant on our door step xxxx
We celebrated my daughters 40th birthday here this week. What a fabulous night, the food, service and all the staff , was all first class, Thankyou all so much .
We celebrated at the Three Acres in the private tasting room. The room itself is amazing with it’s own private bar and entrance. I cannot rate the service enough, nothing was too much for the waiters we had. The food was perfect 25 orders on the night and each person was delighted with each of their three courses. We Would definitely celebrate here again and we will definitely be becoming regulars in the restaurant.
Visited yesterday for my husbands 60th birthday party held in the Cattier Suite- fabulous food - staff excellent and room just perfectly decorated with my requested additions - thank you for a fabulous experience all guests were very complimentary would highly recommend The 3 Acres
Stunning meal at tea time. Just love how much they equally please our children as much as us. Gorgeous menu and specials were exceptional. Thank you Terry for your first class service and food....always #favouriteplace
Some of the best food around, don’t listen to the poor reviews they just want Weatherspoons with nice views. Excellent customer service and even better food, paid a lot more for much inferior food. Will hopefully be returning soon.
Our first time staying and eating at 3 Acres and we will be back!! Lovely room, amazing and delicious food and brilliant customer service - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our 10th Wedding Anniversary very special.
Our Silver Wedding dinner. Fantastic night. Attentive but not intrusive staff, lovely ambiance and amazing food. Thank you, you are our go to place for key family celebrations!
Had a surprise birthday meal here with my Fiancé, somewhere we’ve wanted to eat at but never got round to it... 3 courses later, we can’t wait to come back. And the candle on my desert was a lovely little touch-Thankyou
Celebrated My parents 50th wedding anniversary with lunch for family and disco with family and friends, food was amazing and staff were accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks everyone for making this weekend as special as we expected it to be.
Came for an anniversary meal and stay, absolutely adored the food, service was exemplary both evening and breakfast. Absolutely nothing too much trouble, really recommend it and will be back again!
Amazing place in a great setting. Been going since 2003. Consistently top quality food and drink. Always good beer and wines. Love the place. Service top notch too.
24 of us celebrated my husbands 50th birthday, we were in the Taster Room and it was great. Great food, good friendly staff and great atmosphere. We all stayed over which made is even more special, the rooms and breakfast were lovely. Thank you to everyone at 3 Acres, nothing was too much trouble for them. We love this place, it has become one of our favourite places.
Stayed last night for a weekend getaway with friends. Bar and restaurant excellent with extensive menus and quality of food and service was second to none. Only reason not given 5 stars is that the accommodation was a little tired and not on the same level as the food, service etc. Our room was in the main building. Our friends room which was in the annex was much better
been half a dozen times and stayed over twice...... fist few times great food, atmosphere, service .... and a breakfast to die for. Sadly this time 4th May 2018 not so good, menu changed, nothing really stood out, had the pate and mussels in past to start, this time got scollops, nothing special, quite tasteless eaten in about 60 seconds! Main I got pork, which had some nice flavours but not consistent and tiny portion. Crème Brule again had better ! partner raved about his chocolate orange desert though, total £129 just seemed a waste tbf, real shame... really loved this place. Also lot's of young staff one of which a blonde girl with extra long nails was smirking and laughing with another staff member at a customer who walked in! Not the same place, best part sun setting over the amazing view.
We have been coming here for several years!! Food is good, staff not as friendly as they use to be! We stayed on a Sunday, evening meal, toilets had obviously not been cleaned/checked from the lunchtime service, towels over flowing with no clean towels to use! Outdoor entrance at the back of pub rubbish everywhere not a pretty site when going to your room!
We won’t be coming back!!!
Small retirement get together for four. Years since I ate here as I now live in midlands. My son loves it at Three Acres but I have mixed feelings. Menu seems meat orientated and not over inspiring. I had fish of the day which was Hake - lovely but soooo over priced. As the meal was a treat from one of the party I did not see the bill but can image it was well over £250.
Maybe I am not used to this type of decorate your plate dining.
