We would like to wish many congratulations to Sgt Denny, Cdt Cpl Cook and Cdt Walker who have completed 100 miles over 4 days at marching pace within the Military entry section for the Nijmegen marches
Safe travels home 🇳🇱🇬🇧

Tonight Cadets enjoyed some climbing with our friends from 404 Morpeth Squadron at Simonside Wall. Lots of activities are ran outside of a normal Squadron night and we encourage the cadets to take every opportunity.

Yesterday evening C.I Burton ran the first of her blue badge radio course (introduction to radios)a very welcome addition to the training program after a long absence. The squadron bought new radios with help again from the CivCom. Cadets will complete the full course and be presented certifies at the end but we have a couple of weekends of hard assessments before that.

First Class and Leading Badges finally arrived after a few month of hard work from C.I Burton sifting through a lot of Admin along with the CWO’s support, and obviously the cadets have worked immensely hard.
Well done to all.

A good day flying, a couple of first time flyers and amazing weather at RAF Leeming.

It’s the end of a remarkable cadet career for Flight Sergeant Jones who left the Squadron on Monday. FS Jones from joining 324 has quite literally grabbed the cadet experience with both hands, as such he’s had what can only be described as a glittering cadet career. From Africa with Junior Leaders to Flying Scholarships and of course a highlight was being chose for the Lord Lieutenants Cadet. He completed Air Experience Flying, numerous overseas camps and UK Camps and gainin...g his Gold DofE Award, the list is endless. We wish the FS every piece of luck as he moves in to a career path which will hopefully fulfill his dream of flying professionally.
Officer Commanding 324 commented that FS Jones has quite literally done everything available to him and most course reports returned have said good - excellent, as I know from my past the RAF ‘good’ normally means exceptional... His unique tenacity and drive has ensured he has gotten the best of what the RAFAC and the Squadron could have offered him.
I would encourage any cadet to learn from this and chase every goal that we can offer. I can only wish him well in his future endeavors.

Well done to Cdt Tearle for supporting the Mayor at his inauguration yesterday in her capacity as Mayors Cadet. The Mayor has said that he was humbled to have his ‘very own cadet’ and she done a exceptional job.

We would like to congratulate our Hon. President Cllr. Tracey Dixon on her new appointment as Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council.
Tracey was instrumental in getting the authority to pass the motion In full council for the creation of the Mayors Cadet 10 years ago during her term as Mayor of the Borough, one of the first authorities to recognize the role, this has went from strength to strength from it’s inception, and her support of the Squadron has been unwavering.
The... role of Mayors Cadet is much sought after on the Squadron, and further news will be announced as to who the new Mayors Cadet will be for 2019/20.
Best wishes Tracey from all at 324.

Although I could not be there due to a prior commitment at the Army and Navy rugby, I would like to publicly say a heartfelt thanks to the staff and members of the CivCom who organized our pie and pea supper on Saturday, they raised £166.50. My thanks to all both parents and ex members who supported the night and we can only hope for a larger event next year.
