Annie Birnie who recently climbed Kili with 360, is not on Facebook. She wanted to thank all the amazing people who were with her on her journey and has asked us to share her message. Reports like this make our day!
Having recently returned from Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa with 360 Expeditions i want to convey my utmost gratitude to all involved for a once in a lifetime experience.
As a considerably older client, fit for my age but with no experience of trekking at altitude, i ...determined to enjoy every day to the maximum and not just focus on the summit; as each day was a journey in itself.
With the help and guidance of the legend that is Mussa and all 58 members of his incredible all singing, all dancing support crew i managed to achieve a height of 5,050 metres on summit night before turning around - the right decision for me.
A very special mention must go to Jihadi Nurdin, the guide whose patience, care and encouragement throughout was instrumental in my enjoyment of and achievements on the mountain and last but not least to Stuart Shipp, Ryanito Birnie and all my trekking buddies.
If you want my advice, don't just think about it, contact 360 Expeditions and do it! You won't regret it. Annie (Queen) Birnie

Day two on Stok Kangri only last week! . Amazing that 2 weeks earlier our first team were cooking in the 30-degree heat. Since this video, the weather has continued to deteriorate and our third and final team for the season (Love Her Wild; Women's adventure community (UK) have been trekking in lots of snow and it's been tough going. . Due to this unexpected heavy snowfall we have changed the route and have brought up plastic boots and crampons for the full team. Instead of crossing the Stok La pass they drove to Stok village and will head for the BC from there tomorrow. All is well and they are embracing all the changes and uncertainties that mountain and adventure life can bring.

Come and drink a beer with Rolfe Oostra Mountaineer at 360 Expeditions and Stuart Shipp from City Mountaineering on Thursday the 18th October. Listen to stories from their time spent on expeditions! learn what adventure means to them and how it has defined their path in life along with many who have joined them. It will be fun and energic while offering a great place to meet old and new friends. Not only will you hear stories from Rolfe and Stuart but also from Nina and Chris who will be there to talk chat through their recent Kilimanjaro trip and what they did to train for altitude and how this helped them reach the summit.

Working with 360 on the recent Kilimanjaro Trek, I‚Äôve seen first hand the exceptional detail that goes into making a trip ‚Äėthe clients success‚Äô. From the team at HQ, to the team in-country on the ground you know that ‚Äôcustomer care‚Äô is simply everything.

I don’t freelance for any other companies these days, yet speaking with Marni a year or so ago about setting up a trip together, it just made perfect sense! A decision I have not regretted.

Well done 360!

To all at 360: thank you.

A couple of my fellow group members have posted below, who can attest more fully to the professional and incredibly personal way in which 360 responded to difficult family situations arising on a mountain at 4,000 metres. I will forever be impressed by their response.

As to my experience - the whole expedition was seamless. I'd never attempted anything like this, but the pre-communication was perfect, right from the moment when the company (very fairly) honoured the pre-Brexit prices. Marni and Helen answered every possible question, and the FB group was a great source of info and an opportunity to meet other members of the team.

Upon arrival, I was met by Moussa and Patrick, who were fantastic Tanzanian guides, along with the rest of the team. They, along with Stuart Shipp, were incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and compassionate guides, who helped many people in many ways to achieve their goals. We had altitude sickness, family emergencies, inexperience and (in my, and others', case) fear of heights to deal with, but nothing was too much for the guiding team. Backed up with an amazing porter team, it was a seamless and very personal experience.

Summit night was quite possibly the hardest thing I've ever done. But it was 100% worth it, and 360 provided an incredibly safe, fun and enriching experience. I'd not hesitate to recommend them to anyone (and would thank them for providing the opportunity to meet such an amazing group of people on my trip).

Superb expedition company, met its leader Rolfe on Aconcagua whilst on an unsupported exped with some friends, genuinely a damn fine chap who’s knowledge and experience is outstanding. Extremely helpful team and very professional staff. I’m looking forward to heading out to India this year and ranges beyond in years to come.

So it's a week since I got back from a trip to Stok Kangri with 360 Expeditions. A week of the UK's roads and London's underground. What a crash back down to earth it has been.

The trip to Stok with 360 was quite simply superb.

360 did everything right. Before we left Helen and Marni were always there with proactive information and all the details we needed. Also they ensured the wider team were connected with each other before we left. Something previous companies if trekked with have never done.

On the mountain we had the one and only Rolfe as our guide. He set the vibe for the whole trip which I'm pleased to say resonated with the whole group. He was also backed up excellently by Karma and his team of helpers who looked after us brilliantly.

In addition to all of this the execution of the trek was great, people could get on at their own pace, always with support in the background. You were encouraged to get out of your comfort zone and truly experience the place around you.

This trip was amazing and will be virtually impossible to beat. I loved every moment of it.

Pat yourselves on the back everyone at 360. You deserve it. I'm already looking at what I can do with you guys next. ÔŅĹ

So far I have been on two trips with these guys. First was kilimanjaro in 2014. I didn't think that trip could be topped. The food on the mountain was outstanding. The people who helped us achieve the top were warm friendly full of energy and so much fun. At that is where I first met Rolfe. An absolutely fascinating warm and awesome character who made us all feel safe and able to climb the mountain. I have recently come back from summitting Stok Kangri in northern India. Now I really do believe this trip can't be topped. Again being led by the awesome Rolfe. We just all had the best time. The local guides and support crew were out of this world. Such warm lovely people who cooked the best food!! The views and scenery on this trip were incredible. And summit day was such an awesome fun achievement

Thanks 360 for out doing yourselves which I didn't think was possible :-) x

Short review of Kilimanjaro, Pyrenees Expedition Training, and Mera Peak.

The first time I came across 360 Expeditions was in 2014. My sister, her friend, and I wanted to try the challenge that is Kilimanjaro. From the word go, chatting with Marni and Helen, we had all the information needed to enjoy a successful expexition. This was the first time we met Rolfe. Great guide/leader/and now friend. The ground team at Kili are just great and have been working with 360 for years. Very friendly and helpful we had nothing but happy times as they helped us summit.

Forward 3 years and I have so far in 2017 completed their expedition training and now Mera peak expedition with my wife. Not only do they accommodate different people but also their skill set. The expedition training gave us the skills needed to attempt further expeditions and experience a long summit day (13 hours).

Before Mera the highest my wife had been was Aneto at 3400m. Again for both of these we felt confident in our guides ability and for both again we had Rolfe. Plenty of time to acclimatise during the 18 days out trekking using a route not normally taken by other companies. This way we had a better chance of summiting.

We are now both signed up for Elbrus in June 2018, myself for Aconcagua in November 2018 (wife is considering) and we wouldn't chose another company to attempt such expeditions. Different leaders on both but after what we have both experience we trust 360s judgement in the selection of thier leaders 100%. Can't wait!

No company runs an expedition like 360. From the initial booking, the kit and training prep (with negotiated discounts), telephone support, weather updates prior to stepping on the hill you feel like you are in the very best hands before you have even joined the team.

I have seen first hand the inexperienced guides that run the other trips and they without fail tend to lean on the experienced guides that 360 use for advice - if i was a client i would be instantaneously nervous! The logistics are well thought out, problems that occur (you are in mountains after all) are smoothly ironed out and you leave your trip feeling reassured that every penny spent was well worth it.

I would never even consider another company to take me into the mountains than 360.

Me and my friend decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro as a 30th birthday challenge in September 2017. We signed up with 360 Expeditions and were kept well informed in the build up to the trek. Everything was sorted by 360, we just had to show up! It was a smoothly run operation, and even when things had to change, they were done so without disruption. The entire team - the France based home team, and then the team out there, from the guides (Stuart, Musa, Francis, Patrick, Emmanuelle, Jumba Jumba) to ALL of the many porters, I was blown away by what people can do in such extreme environments - we were kept motivated, we were looked after, we were fed, we were kept hydrated, we were given shelter, we had toilets all on the side of a mountain! The trek was a challenge, biggest one to date of my life. I made it to Stella point, which would have been impossible without the help of the guides and porters (shout out to Francis, Jiha and Jafar!). Thank you 360, if you are thinking of doing a big challenge abroad, say yes to 360!

Kilimanjaro, Jordanian desert and Mt Kenya treks. Faultless. Highly recommend. Keep saving for the next adventure. ÔŅĹ

User

Just spent the weekend in the Pyrenees climbing with 360. 1 to 1 guiding by Rolfe I was blown away by the world class routes and Rolfe’s knowledge of the crags. Hopping from France to Spain and back again I was pushed to my absolute limit. 50 routes later ( and 3 grades higher than I’ve ever climbed) I’m back in England with a sore body and a very big smile. Along with that the 1st class hospitality from Marni and Clare put the icing(and the candles) on a fabulous cake.

Many thanks guys and see you soon.

It was a pleasure to organise a trek to Morocco to do a summer ascent of Toubkal. If you've never been to Marrakech before, prepare for sensory overload! Crossing the road is like playing a game of Frogger that's got out of hand, it's brilliant! The trek itself was short and challenging. All of my July team managed to reach the summit and they were rewarded with spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains. Our local guides couldn't do enough for us, and nothing was too much for them. Our team bonded quickly and encouraged each other through the walking. Our accommodation was great, and the food was incredible. The Riads either side of the trekking were such a refreshing change and pleasantly surprised myself and raised many smiles from the team. Thank you 360 for the opportunity, and here's to many more to come!

User

I've never felt the need to leave a review before, but the service I received from 360 exceeded all expectations. The expedition experience that Rolfe and the team has is second to none and the training I received from Rolfe, will change the way I work towards my goals in the hills. I'm looking forward to working together on future projects.

I'm never one to wax lyrical about much but online it seems people always post on the negative, not so much on the positive....

I've just got back from climbing Trango Tower, Pakistan with Rolfe Oostra of 360. Prior to this I've climbed Ama Dablam & EBC, Mt Kenya, Aconcagua and Kili with him. Everything from trekking, to proper technical stuff. I'm very particular about everything I do. I do my research. I don't operate with cheap kit. I won't go with a bad crew. I struck it lucky finding 360 first off 10 years ago, and now for a proper expedition, I will not go with anyone else.

Pakistan was an unbelievable country, and an epic trip. Sure, Rolfe called me every expletive under the sun for the past 5 weeks, but he's an Aussie, so I can't hold it against him ;)

Massive thanks to the amazing Marni and Helen in the office - girls your support as always is unbelievable, and often goes without credit. The summit is impossible without you both xx

Once again thanks to you all, and here's to the next one!

User

I'm a very fussy person if the truth be told (although I think I hide it well!). I don't work for just anyone or spend my hard earned cash on just any company, which is why I work for and expedition with 360. You get out of life what you put into it. You get out of a trip what you put into it and that goes for all the training and prep you do before hand. For me it's an investment into your success. Work hard to play hard and get the most out of life. On expedition you'll work hard but you'll also get the best time of it if you put it in too. I'm rambling now but just to say that I've achieved great things with 360 and I help clients achieve great things with 360, what's not to recommend!

User

I went on the skills course in the Pyrenees for a week and it was amazing, the guides jo and Rolfe were amazing and I felt very safe and would trust them with my life on any other expedition. The course is great for people that have just got into mountaineering and want to learn the skills needed for mountaineering. We learnt so much in a week and will probably never forgot.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

User

I recently attempted Mt Toubkal with 360 Expeditions and I cannot recommend them enough.

The staff at 360 are incredible and the support I received both on and off the mountain was second to none. I especially want to thank Marnie and Helen, for their support and advice before the mountain, and Natalie for her amazing leadership during the climb. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them.

Trips such as this always have something unexpected happen but I always felt in safe hands and any issues that cropped up were promptly and efficiently dealt with.

This is not to mention the very surprising touch of luxury we encountered in our hotels and on the mountain. I was constantly surprised by the lovely meals that we were provided despite being halfway up a snowy mountain!

I have used other companies before but nothing compared to the service I received from 360.

In short, I will be planning all my future expeditions with 360 Expeditions and am already considering my next adventure!

User

Have been back from the recent Stok Kangri trip for 6 days now and really struggling to return to 'normal' life. There is a simplicity to life on a trek. Wake up, get fed, walk for 4 to 10 hours, get fed and go to bed. But there is sooooo much more to it than that. The landscape was like no where else that I have ever been. We had the best group of trekkers, porters and guides building life time friendships. This simplicity to life is only achievable because of all the cogs turning in the background. The organisation by 360 back at the office and on the ground in India was impeccable. There was a flexibility to the itinerary that allowed people to move at their pace and there was never a dull moment during the down time. I would certainly use 360 again and highly recommend them to any one and every one.

User

Fantastic, just back from the Everest Base Camp trip and the whole experience was first class, cant wait to use 360 Expeditions for my next adventure. Thank you so much for making my dream trip so amazing. Lindon.

Everyone has a story to tell, right?

My story started in 2015 on the slopes of Mt Elbrus in Russia.

I had the amazing opportunity to meet Rolfe and discuss the ‚Äúnext trip‚ÄĚ and to my amazement he said ‚ÄúI will take you up a cool 6000m mountain.

In September 2017 Rolfe fulfilled his promise and came with me every step of the way to the summit of Stok Kangri.

In the two years we planned and organised the trip, Rolfe, Marni and Helen became like family (the great) kind and nothing was too much trouble.

The company is without doubt the very definition of excellence in everything they do.

On summit night Rolfe was truly inspiring and equally calming and gave us the belief that EVERYTHING is possible if you just keep on pushing and believing in yourself. His calmness and professionalism turned a mind racing with fear and doubt into a mind full of peace and tranquility and the honest belief that you will reach your goal. The mans a genius and I’m proud to call him my friend.

Saying goodbye to the team that looked after us for two weeks, was one of the hardest things I‚Äôve ever had had to do. Our every wish and requirements where catered for and always with a massive smile and that lovely ‚Äúgood morning‚ÄĚ greeting.

Words can’t express my gratitude to the team at 360 other than to tell the world reading this review that dreams do come true and if you want to find them look no further than 360 Expeditions.

Thanks guys! Love Steve x
