Well done to all our cadets who represented the Sqn today in the Wing Athletics competition. They all did well and we have 4 finalists. Cdt Dichie won his race and has been selected to represent the wing in the 100m. Well done Cdt Dichie and well done all.

The 1st of April marks the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force. As per tradition with all big birthdays check out the RAF Air Cadets national Choir (feauturing our own Cdt Cpl Spillane) on choir camp singing "happy Birthday" to the Royal Air Force #RAF100

Flying at RAF Cranwell for Mannock cadets. It was touch and go whether or not the weather would be good enough but luckily it was good enough for all cadets to fly. We had 7 cadets fly today, all had a brilliant time.

Last week FS Lyddall completed his parachute jump to raise money for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation. A fantastic achievement from Sean who arranged this terrifying challenge himself and faced it head on! It looks like he had a brilliant time!
Thank you to everyone who sponsored him, it made the jump very worthwhile and the money does go to a good cause. There is still time to sponsor if you haven’t already done so. The John Thornton foundation provide bursaries for a number of organisations, including the Air Cadets, to change the lives of young people.

This week we welcomed four new additions to the Sqn NCO team. Four cadets were promoted to Cpl this week and are eager to take on more responsibilities as they learn more about the role of an NCO. This strengthens our extremely valued NCO team led by the recently promoted FS Lyddall. Congratulations to all.

Well done to All the Cadets from 378 Sqn, who competed in South & East Midlands Wing annual cross country competition. We had 12 cadets competing from the other 27 Squadrons in the Wing which extends as far as Nottingham and Derby.

Today was ATC Sunday, which commemorates the anniversary of the Corps, founded in 1941. Mannock Sqn joined Rushden Sqn to mark this occasion. The cadets represented the Sqn well, thank you to all who supported this.

Sgt Lyddall is on the prestigious Junior Leaders course and he needs to raise a minimum of £500 for the John Thornton charity. Please may all Mannock Sqn friends consider helping this brilliant cause.

A cadet from 378 Mannock Squadron recently attended her investiture as the next Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Northamptonshire. Cadet Sergeant Jahnavi Monya, 18, who was nominated by her Squadron and Wing for her outstanding bearing, professionalism and commitment to the Corps, attended an Investiture Ceremony at Northampton’s Town Hall along with the cadet representatives from the Army Cadet Force and the Sea Cadet Corps. Jahnavi will spend the next twelve months providing a... ceremonial escort to the Lord Lieutenant, Mr David Laing. When on duty, Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets wear a distinctive badge of their appointment, to denote their role. Describing the recent appointment as being one of the highlights of her Cadet experience, Jahnavi was praised by her Commanding Officer, Flying Officer Warr who said: “Sergeant Monya is a credit to our unit and her appointment to this post is a unique honour and a fantastic opportunity that she will take with her for years to come.”
