About 39Th Signal Regiment - The Skinners

The 39th Signal Regiment (The Skinners) is an Army Reserve Regiment based across Southern England in Bristol, Bath, Windsor, Gloucester and Cardiff.

39Th Signal Regiment - The Skinners Description

We are an Army Reserve Signal Regiment, forming part of 1st (United Kingdom) Signal Brigade, providing the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) with Information and Communication Support.

Our part time Combat Signallers work with British Army Regular and Reserve Army units as part of the 70, 000 international troops making up NATO’s largest combat formation, the ARRC.

We also support the wider Armed Forces with a High Readiness Reserve for UK Operations, standing by to assist with any crisis or emergency in the UK. This has involved our soldiers helping communities deal with flooding and supporting the Police and Blue Light services - keeping us all safe.

We provide this information and communications support in our mobile detachments, at important headquarters, or deployed in the field on foot when required. Anywhere where duty calls.
The vast majority of our soldiers are part time Army Reservists living and working in the community with you most days.

You can join us as a part time soldier in
Bristol
Bath
Cardiff
Gloucester
Windsor

Drop us an email for further details. Full training given. No experience required (but always welcome). Paid for your time.

Sig Carter of 94 (Berkshire yeomanry) Signal Squadron was presented the Skinners Award for Best Endeavour this weekend, by The Rt Hon. The Lord Lisvane KCB DL, master of the Skinners Livery Company.

Sig Carter epitomises all the qualities that are required of a Royal Signals soldier. Even with the considerable time constraints imposed on the Reserve Soldier, Sig Carter can always be relied upon to be on every exercise and training opportunity possible. Sig Carter is always ...keen to improve his all-round skill set as a developing young soldier by volunteering for tasks of various natures, understanding that there are lessons to be learnt everywhere.

He demonstrates his keen determination and absolute professionalism by striving to become more competent in his trade skills and soldiering capability. He does this to ensure he can deploy into an operational theatre at the earliest opportunity and prove himself by having a positive effect.

Sig Carter is a committed individual that will make the most of any opportunity to absorb information and develop himself. This is seen often by him making the most of the Permanent Staff and Instructors, gleaning as much information from them as possible. He is often attends training early, to use the available physical training equipment, preparing himself for the future of Army in Soldiering, Signalling and Physical Training.
About the Skinners: 39 Signal Regiment ‘The Skinners’ has been affiliated to the Skinners Livery company, in London since 1954. The Honorary Colonel of the Regiment has always been a member of the Skinners' Company Court, and the Master and Wardens visit the Regiment annually and donate awards for the Recruit and best Endeavour.

#MotivationMonday #MondayMotivation 40 miles done 👊🤘💪. Could you join us next year? . . . ... This past weekend saw teams from across the Royal Corps of Signals compete in the prestigious Lanyard trophy. Marching 40 miles with 30lbs over the harsh Dartmoor terrain. . . . Our team put in a great physical and mental effort to see them through. Thanks must go to 216 Parachute Signal Squadron for organising this years event. . . . #HappyNewYear Welcome to 2019!!! . . . 39 Signal Regiment has had a busy 2018, across all our Squadrons.... . . . Our main focus this year was working towards Ex Lion Star in Cyprus. This took a lot of hard work getting all our personnel to a high level of skill on the “Back to Basics” syllabus. This involved getting out into the field and onto the range. This proved to be a great challenge which the whole Regiment rose too and the exercise was highly successful. . . . Throughout the year we've also conducted several successful AT expeds including the usual skiing and snowboarding as well as cycling in Germany. These expeds were greatly received and enjoyed by all those who attended. This has been coupled with the great achievements in the sporting arena with particular mention too our Lanyard teams. . . . Bring on the rest of 2019. @RoyalCorpsSignals _________________________________________ _____ #British #Army #Soldier #RoyalSignals #Teamwork #Training #Tactical #Reservist #FindWhereYouBelong #OurFamily #Adventure #Military #Exercise #Motivation #BritishArmy #CommunicationSpecialists #Outdoors #UnitedKingdom #TrainHard #Challenge #Bristol #Bath #Cardiff #Windsor
