Government banning energy drinks for under 16's 🤔
We think its a great idea! 😀 here's why...
A recent report found they contained 13 teaspoons of sugar each and 160mg of caffeine, they are said to be as harmful as drugs. Excessive consumption has been linked to a range of health issues in children such as: ... -obesity -tooth decay -headaches -sleep problems -stomach aches -hyperactivity
A survey involving 16 European countries including the UK found that 68% of 11 to 18-year-olds and 18% of children aged 10 and under consume energy drinks, with 11% of the older group and 12% of children drinking at least a litre in a single session.
The European Food Safety Authority recommends an intake of no more than 105mg of caffeine per day for an average 11-year-old.

Dental Check by the age of One?
For years, many parents have believed that primary school age is the right time for a first appointment with a dentist, However it is now recommended Babies should see a dentist as soon as their first teeth come through (or by the age of one at least).
You should start brushing your baby's teeth with fluoride toothpaste as soon as the first milk tooth breaks through (usually at around six months, but it can be earlier or later). It's importan...t to use a fluoride paste, as this helps to prevent and control tooth decay.
There's no need to buy special "children's toothpaste" brands. In fact, some of them don’t have enough fluoride in them to help prevent tooth decay. Make sure your child doesn't eat or lick the toothpaste from the tube!
Below the age of three years, children should use just a smear of toothpaste. Brush your child's teeth for about two minutes twice a day: once just before bedtime and at least one other time during the day.
Encourage them to spit out excess toothpaste, but not to rinse with lots of water. Rinsing with water after tooth brushing will wash away the fluoride and make it less effective.
Take your child to the dentist when their first milk teeth appear. This is so they become familiar with the environment and get to know the dentist. Just opening up the child's mouth for the dentist to take a look at is useful practise for the future.
When you visit the dentist, be positive about it and make the trip fun. This will stop your child worrying about future visits.

Good Morning everyone!
We’ve got some handy tips to help you through the summer holidays:
1. Don't forget your Toothbrush - things can get left behind when the manic packing process begins, so make sure to pack your toothbrush.
... 2. Water - It’s important to drink during a hot summer, you should avoid regularly consuming drinks with high sugar and acidic content such as sports drinks or fizzy drinks which increase the chance of dental decay and enamel erosion.
3. Limit Sugary snacks - During the holidays we are more likely to “graze” but we must remember to keep this to a minimum. It is better for our teeth and general health to stick to three meals a-day instead of having seven to ten of these “snack-attacks”, which can cause dental decay.
5. Protect Your Lips - While playing in the sun, many of us will sensibly apply suntan lotion to protect ourselves against the sun’s rays but what many people fail to realise is the importance of protecting our lips. Shielding our lips from the sun on holiday is essential as prolonged exposure could lead to forms of oral cancer.
We hope you all have a great summer holiday!
From all the team at 3A Dental Care.

2. Try and eat your Easter eggs at one time of the day or after you've eaten your meal.
... 3. Use a Fluoride toothpaste.
4. Don't rinse after brushing, You need that fluoride to soak in!
Happy Easter from all of us at 3A Dental Care.

Well, can anyone say they enjoy a visit to dentist?? But have to say Chris always makes you feel like family, wasn’t too happy to go for work yesterday, but made to feel as relaxed as could, can’t say 5star I loved is right comment! , but 5 star treatment! Thank you for making it a more relaxed experience than I was expecting!

User

Polite, professional care every time. Always appreciate the time and attention we receive. I have always felt VERY happy and grateful for the service that this great practice provide.

User

Our whole family moved with Chris when he set up 3A. Lovely, small, friendly team. Great service and prompt care and attention. Highly recommend them!

User

My family and I always receive a friendly welcome. Having two small children, a dental surgery can often be a scary place. Not at 3A Dental Care! My children are always acknowledged and made to feel relaxed. We always feel like we are being looked after and receiving a very high quality service.

User

It’s a 3 hour drive to get there but I really appreciate the excellent dental treatment I’ve had with the same dentist for over 20 years. No pain and no unnecessary treatment, and always a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.

User

I am always well treated at 3A, both by Mr Broadbent - who has been my dentist for around 20 years too - and by Lindsay. He has taken very good care of my dodgy teeth including a number of emergency appointments over the years. I also welcome the extra hygienist service and the warm welcome from the recepionists - as well as their text appointment reminders. I would definitely recommend this dental practice

User

Have been a patient of Chris Broadbent for over 20 years as has my husband, my children and hopefully my young granddaughter. I am always made welcome, I feel relaxed - even though I don't really want to be there!! Chris takes the time to explain what he is doing and why, and how you might be able to improve things for yourself. It's like visiting a friend who knows you well. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him, his practice and his staff - Rosie is especially nice and friendly. It's like having an extended family!!!

User

Fantastic caring team. Just taken my 12 year old for an emergency appointment, luckily got one the same day. Very patient with kids and explains fully what the cause, procedure and aftercare will be.

User

Excellent service at 3A Dental Care as usual thanks
