About 42Nd Street Nightclub

We're a friendly nightclub for friendly people. We play alternative music with a nod to Manchesters past and an ear in the future. We don't like the charts, chavs or scallies. We would like to meet people that love music and good times.

Wee hidden gem in Manchester. Was down seeing The Roses on Saturday night and we booked tickets for 42s after. Better than any nightclub I've been to up here at home (Glasgow)...just wish it was nearer so I could go every weekend

Thank God for Laird demon leigh, the most respectful and professional bouncer I have ever witnessed. A very dangerous situation happened last night when a very aggressive man got rejected by my friend walked away and then came back and tried to attack us and raised a fist to us, after gaining the first bouncers attention who laughed about it and told us ' I bet he was messing' and ' I know the guy' ... we were godsmacked at the behaviour and felt like we were instantly trivialised by our gender especially when seeking help.

We had to seek the help of a second bouncer as the junior bouncer used his personal relations to the aggressor in question to dismiss our account of what happened.

It was Laird demon leigh who then stepped in to take future action against the aggressor after including two more witnesses who corroborated the truth AND STILL NOT BELIEVED by the trainee bouncer because of his relations to the aggressor. We felt defeated and angry when speaking to the less qualified bouncer until Leigh had to even go against his colleague to realise that this situation was OUT OF ORDER.

Laird demon leigh deserves praise as he diffused a dangerous situation in a very professional and caring manner where some bouncers would have brushed it aside.

I can only be grateful that such a lovely bouncer was on shift that night as the situation could of ended very badly. As women why should we have to deal with these situations on a daily basis, we are not obliged to speak to strangers nor do owe people like this anything.

Thanks again Leigh and you are a credit to this nightclub, I hope that a situation like this never happens again.

Rob the coat man is a fucking gentleman. Tolerant, polite and handsome. What more can you ask for in a coat man.

User

Recently left a review saying staff didn't care but tonight changed my mind, when I was nearly spiked and the bouncers/staff did everything possible to remove him from the club. Once again, thank you! X

User

Never had a bad night in here, decent music and decent staff

User

Great songs. Cheap beer. Always a good atmosphere. It is what it is, don't moan about sticky floors etc. when you're paying less than £6 for 4 jaégerbombs and a vodka coke.

User

Brilliant mix of music. Reasonably priced for drinks, friendly staff. This was my 3rd visit as I live in Bradford and I can happily say I've never had a bad night here. Highly recommend!

User

Best place in the world staff are ace, drinks are cheap and tunes are right on point

User

A club where they differ in music then other bars do but that’s what makes this bar so great! A big and healthy difference in music.

If you’re planning to stay until the end, make sure you get your jacket from the cloakroom a bit before closing. Otherwise the line can get a bit longer than it is needed.

Your business is not LGBTQ friendly. I nearly got my face kicked in cos I told this guy my female friend was not interested. He saw I was gay and nearly took the opportunity to "gay bash" me which, if it wasn't for my friends, your floors would be covered with my blood. Please, for the sake of making profit at least, cater for the LGBTQ Community.

My daughter and her friend left at closing last night and were sexually assaulted and robbed by two men, right outside this club. My daughter is absolutely distraught. There were crowds of people and nobody helped. My daughter had her phone, purse, driving license stolen. We have reported it the police. One of the guys had a deep scar on his face and possibly east European. Be careful this could of been much worse. My daughter said she will not go in to Manchester ever again.

User

Get the appeal, but in my opinion, Line is too big, and there's better places around the Manchester area you can have a drink and a dance to. If you fancy an indie night out this is probably a shout, but 30 mins waiting just kinda killed my night.

User

me and my friend went for a cigarette and a chat round the corner slightly from the smoking area, which we didn’t realise was the only place you could go if you left, but as we tried to come back in we were told we were not allowed back into the club because we had offered a rizla to some somalian people stood outside the club, which we felt was very racist, and apparently if we tried to come again we’d ‘understand why’. never coming back there again, what a joke

User

Went on the 30th of September for a friends birthday, enjoying the night until at around 2-3pm my purse was stolen with money, cards, ID etc. Asked the bouncers about this to be told they have thrown three people out for pickpocketing (why they would throw them out and not detain them for the police I don't know). The next day I contacted their Facebook page in regards to this asking what I could do to follow up and whether anything had been handed in, I was surprised when I got a rather indifferent response, basically unwilling to take responsibility for this, not even receiving an apology from them. Upon reading some of the earlier reviews it seems this a common occurrence within this club, with very little preventative measures in place. Would not recommend a night out here.

User

The bouncer on the front door wouldn't let us in because we left for 5 minutes and he lied that he said we couldn't come back in before grabbing us and trying to throw us down the street!

User

Shit. My mate was injured, someone pushed her and no one cared we had to call a taxi by ourselves and pay for it

User

Having been to 42s numerous times me and 5 friends came in on Saturday for 12am, each paying £6 in search of a good night however all that followed was disappointment. The power went out shortly an hour of being in the club which understandably meant we had to be evacuated however as we were making our way out the bouncers passed one of my friends and threatened to "knock him out as the cameras weren't working" if he didn't leave so I proceeded to ask what the problem was in which his childish response was to call me a 'F****** Slut'. His tone and manner is something I wouldn't expect from a juvenile delinquent let alone a fully grown man. This behaviour, not only disgusting shows his character to be that of a misogynistic thug. To say we left unhappy is an understatement. What a waste of £6.

User

Finally we get a result! !!! My son was assaulted outside this place two weeks ago! By a BOUNCER!!! Yes door staff! Broken nose bust lip in MRI! All he wanted was to get his coat! Seems to be a regular thing! Police here tomorrow for statement! TWAT!
