We've been after eating here for ages, the Instagram pictures just make your mouth water.

We live in Bolton so a trip to Southampton seemed highly unlikely, that was until my wife had a meeting in Portsmouth. It did not disappoint, the food was amazing and the Blue Ribbon lager was awesome. The server, Charlie was attentive and seemed to be genuinely passionate about the food. The red basket offer is insane for the price. Bring your appetite, you'll need it.

Oh my god. The only way I can describe this place. We arrived, and within 10 minutes of walking through our door we had our mains in front of us (having had a starter first). The food was insanely good. I can’t wait to come back!! Staff are lovey and friendly and service was amazingly quick. Definitely worth the journey out of the city centre! Parked in a nearby backstreet and had no issues.

I have been here several times and have never been disappointed!

Took my boyfriend here, as he loves his burgers, and he was shaking with excitement and didn't know where to start! Safe to say he won't be looking at burgers in the same way! Absolutely loved it!

In fact I ate here on Easer Sunday and the service was excellent but wasnt able to tip as we had no cash on us and the card machine did not ask if we wanted to add a gratuity. felt pretty guilty as our waitress (George) was great.



Will definitely be back soon, and will remember the tip next time!

Delicious food altho alil on the huge side for me personally (im a kids portion kinda gal).. but great for all the foodies out there !! .. highly recommend the chicken fried halloumi fries, and the special chocolate and hazelnut shake was the bomb only wish id gone hard & added the frangelico - ill most certainly be back for this!

Service was fast & efficient,lovely atmosphere and staff were all so friendly and helpful .. thanks for making my 1st 7bone experience awesome guys ... great job

Another great meal my eyes were far too big for my belly defo recommend it I’ve read a few negetive reviews but judging by the language used I’d say these people are never happy and expect far too much from a “ burger joint”

You’re not in the ritz people obviously if it’s very busy they may try to hurry you that is not because they don’t want your custom you selfish pricks it’s because that want to make room for people who may be waiting to enjoy a great burger and dirty side we had to wait over the road on one occasion for 45 minutes but was happy to do so because we knew they’d do their best to get us in and eating as soon as possible if you want to sit there all night drinking go to Wetherspoons for dinner then you will have something to moan about

Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff and out of this world burgers. I come a few years ago when I was home, I live away, and I was amazed with the food. I took my uncle from Australia and we proper tucked into the red basket deals mmmmmm never failed to disappoint. Lived up to the hype

1st time we've been and I thought the food & the service was great, we ordered onion straws to come out with our main but unfortunately it came out after we had eaten and we were to full to eat them so the guy deducted them from the bill. Will definitely be returning next time we're in the area!!

Went for Fathers Day as choice of the Dads... Even though it was busy the service was good and the food came out fast and piping hot. I had the Winner Winner chicken burger and it was delicious. Will defo go again.

Not sure whether it did live up to expectation or not , as we arrived here 5-10 pints in - all over the show . From what I can remember nice service , a cracking ambience and a girl with a huge rack almost as big as that mighty burger you guys do ! Will try and come back in a more sober state , so you can be rated fairly . Thanks .

I loved the interior (warehousey/ industrial vibe) of the restaurant. We arrived at about 18:35pm and asked for a table of 5. There was a 45 minute wait for a table so we sat in a nearby bar and had a drink to kill time. Had a call within 15 mins to say a table was ready (which was great as we were very hungry!).



We entered the restaurant and sat at our table looking eagerly at the menu as we heard many good things about this place and we were so excited to try the food. Within 5 minutes someone came and asked if we were ready to order food which we weren't. The waiter seemed a bit miffed and went away; he didn't even ask to take our drinks order first and perhaps come back to give us our drinks and then take our food order.



Anyway, we ordered our food and couldn't fault that! The food was lovely and the halloumi fries and poutine are great! We LOVED the milkshakes - in particular the apple cinnamon pie and salted caramel.



After we finished eating, a member of staff came to take our plates away and we then asked for some take-away boxes as we had food left over. The waiter brought some boxes over - with the bill too. A bill that we had not yet asked for as we weren't ready to pay/ leave as we wanted to order more drinks. We were quite surprised by this as it felt a bit rude since we were having a lovely evening catching up with friends.



My friend then asked for a milkshake and a diet coke. Both came pretty quickly but the milkshake came with a plastic takeaway lid on it! Furthermore, the waiter also brought over the 'revised bill' again without us asking. This couldn't signal 'get out we need the table' any more if it tried! We decided to sit and enjoy our drinks as we still wanted to talk and catch up. About 20 minutes later, the waiter came over with the card machine asking if we were ready to pay. It was quite awkward as we clearly weren't ready to leave. We were quite shocked and a bit angered by this so we just decided to pay and leave. My friend did mention something to the lady working the door as we were leaving.



The food was good but the pressurised service was such a let-down. I understand it's a Saturday night - a busy time for restaurants, but don't compromise on the service and rush people out just to get more people in and make more money. It's a restaurant, not a fast food joint. Allow people to enjoy their meals at whatever pace they like. We didn't spend £121 for a fast-food restaurant style service.



Food was good but I am not in a hurry to come back. I hope you guys make your service a bit more personalised sometime soon.

Sadly though, when I tried sharing 7bone with a lactose intolerant friend I was told pretty much everything had milk in it, including the buns. Have not been back yet, but I would highly encourage 7bone to offer lacto free buns so everyone can enjoy the amazing food!

Our third visit to 7Bone and possibly the last trip there. It's changed and not necessarily for the better.



My Robert Johnston burger was tasty but loaded with what seemed like cheap mayo. The dirty fries seemed to be less tasty: the sauce plain and the salad chopped larger as were the bacon bits.



The chicken 'starter' was fab, the pork crackle starter just OK. Fortunately they have extended the restaurant since we last visited so the volume of the music seemed less: I had problems hearing after my last visit there.



All in all an 'OK' was scored. Maybe we need to look elsewhere for a fantastic burger restaurant as this one isn't what it used to be, sadly.

I've given 2 stars as the food, on the whole, was good. However, my partner did have a vegetarian burger which was dry, tasteless and not that enjoyable. Something we communicated to the rude chap who served us.

His response was "I'll pass it on". Yes. I'm sure you did. An offer of a fresh burger or alternative meal would have been more desirable.

This was his general attitude and demeanor. The guy couldn't wait for us to leave, which I found particularly rude considering it wasn't late or the restaurant was that full. Upon leaving, he made an effort to slam the door shut behind us, then proceeded to share a joke with his colleagues.

We paid quite a sum for the meal also. Service is a key element of eating out, certainly if they want a tip! Poor service tends to dilute the whole eating out experience.

I wish that I raised the poor service whilst in the restaurant, but it was a family meal out, so didn't want to create an atmosphere.

I would like to think that this was a one-off, as visits to other 7Bone restaurants have been positive. This was not.

Arrived for opening time. Drove from Birmingham with kids and this was on our way to our end destination. Husband had seen it on Instagram and wanted to check it out. The pictures Online are not like what you get. Guy who took our order needed to know how to smile and generally be better when taking an order. Miserable. Not a great start. Girl who was on a trial and girl who bought food over were both really lovely (we came yesterday.) Went to change my baby and chef came out of the disabled/ladies/babychange toilet and did not wash his hands. I heard the flush and door straight open and then straight back into the kitchen which is next to the toilets. Safe to say we wouldn’t go back. Buns for burgers should be much better. Not over exaggerating this is just the truth. Most of the staff looked bored and unhelpful.

Wondering how this place is still open as it hides reviews when truth is told the food is not what they make it out to be it's totally crap dripping in cooking oil staff have no manners and are ignorant to customers that complain the management should be ashamed to run a business this way also hygiene is not top of list either tables are sticky where not washed staff seen to stick finger in nose then serve food disgusting would not recommend to eat here at all

Tried to get dinner tonight. Says everywhere on line they close at 10 but wouldn’t let us in at 9.15- such a shame as your food is good but I won’t be returning! Change your hours as it’s totally misleading

Real shame, we have called before to order a take away as we live about 20 mins away. It means it's ready to go when we get there, it's ideal with 2 yr old. Unfortunately the lady that answered the phone just said no we would have to come in and wait as they couldn't store the food, wouldn't even let me finish my sentence before she said ok bye. Needless to say customer service needs to be looked at and no more take away for us.

Just tried to get food at 2115. Both Facebook and google state open until 2200. Such a shame as the food is actually good but kitchen closing an hour before actual closing seems a bit excessive for “fast food”!

You’re not in the ritz people obviously if it’s very busy they may try to hurry you that is not because they don’t want your custom you selfish pricks it’s because that want to make room for people who may be waiting to enjoy a great burger and dirty side we had to wait over the road on one occasion for 45 minutes but was happy to do so because we knew they’d do their best to get us in and eating as soon as possible if you want to sit there all night drinking go to Wetherspoons for dinner then you will have something to moan about

Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff and out of this world burgers. I come a few years ago when I was home, I live away, and I was amazed with the food. I took my uncle from Australia and we proper tucked into the red basket deals mmmmmm never failed to disappoint. Lived up to the hype

1st time we've been and I thought the food & the service was great, we ordered onion straws to come out with our main but unfortunately it came out after we had eaten and we were to full to eat them so the guy deducted them from the bill. Will definitely be returning next time we're in the area!!

Went for Fathers Day as choice of the Dads... Even though it was busy the service was good and the food came out fast and piping hot. I had the Winner Winner chicken burger and it was delicious. Will defo go again.

Not sure whether it did live up to expectation or not , as we arrived here 5-10 pints in - all over the show . From what I can remember nice service , a cracking ambience and a girl with a huge rack almost as big as that mighty burger you guys do ! Will try and come back in a more sober state , so you can be rated fairly . Thanks .

I loved the interior (warehousey/ industrial vibe) of the restaurant. We arrived at about 18:35pm and asked for a table of 5. There was a 45 minute wait for a table so we sat in a nearby bar and had a drink to kill time. Had a call within 15 mins to say a table was ready (which was great as we were very hungry!).



We entered the restaurant and sat at our table looking eagerly at the menu as we heard many good things about this place and we were so excited to try the food. Within 5 minutes someone came and asked if we were ready to order food which we weren't. The waiter seemed a bit miffed and went away; he didn't even ask to take our drinks order first and perhaps come back to give us our drinks and then take our food order.



Anyway, we ordered our food and couldn't fault that! The food was lovely and the halloumi fries and poutine are great! We LOVED the milkshakes - in particular the apple cinnamon pie and salted caramel.



After we finished eating, a member of staff came to take our plates away and we then asked for some take-away boxes as we had food left over. The waiter brought some boxes over - with the bill too. A bill that we had not yet asked for as we weren't ready to pay/ leave as we wanted to order more drinks. We were quite surprised by this as it felt a bit rude since we were having a lovely evening catching up with friends.



My friend then asked for a milkshake and a diet coke. Both came pretty quickly but the milkshake came with a plastic takeaway lid on it! Furthermore, the waiter also brought over the 'revised bill' again without us asking. This couldn't signal 'get out we need the table' any more if it tried! We decided to sit and enjoy our drinks as we still wanted to talk and catch up. About 20 minutes later, the waiter came over with the card machine asking if we were ready to pay. It was quite awkward as we clearly weren't ready to leave. We were quite shocked and a bit angered by this so we just decided to pay and leave. My friend did mention something to the lady working the door as we were leaving.



The food was good but the pressurised service was such a let-down. I understand it's a Saturday night - a busy time for restaurants, but don't compromise on the service and rush people out just to get more people in and make more money. It's a restaurant, not a fast food joint. Allow people to enjoy their meals at whatever pace they like. We didn't spend £121 for a fast-food restaurant style service.



Food was good but I am not in a hurry to come back. I hope you guys make your service a bit more personalised sometime soon.

Have been here plenty of times before with family and really enjoyed the food! Personally a fan of the Prince Charles and chilli cheese fries.



Sadly though, when I tried sharing 7bone with a lactose intolerant friend I was told pretty much everything had milk in it, including the buns. Have not been back yet, but I would highly encourage 7bone to offer lacto free buns so everyone can enjoy the amazing food!

Our third visit to 7Bone and possibly the last trip there. It's changed and not necessarily for the better.



My Robert Johnston burger was tasty but loaded with what seemed like cheap mayo. The dirty fries seemed to be less tasty: the sauce plain and the salad chopped larger as were the bacon bits.



The chicken 'starter' was fab, the pork crackle starter just OK. Fortunately they have extended the restaurant since we last visited so the volume of the music seemed less: I had problems hearing after my last visit there.



All in all an 'OK' was scored. Maybe we need to look elsewhere for a fantastic burger restaurant as this one isn't what it used to be, sadly.

I've given 2 stars as the food, on the whole, was good. However, my partner did have a vegetarian burger which was dry, tasteless and not that enjoyable. Something we communicated to the rude chap who served us.

His response was "I'll pass it on". Yes. I'm sure you did. An offer of a fresh burger or alternative meal would have been more desirable.

This was his general attitude and demeanor. The guy couldn't wait for us to leave, which I found particularly rude considering it wasn't late or the restaurant was that full. Upon leaving, he made an effort to slam the door shut behind us, then proceeded to share a joke with his colleagues.

We paid quite a sum for the meal also. Service is a key element of eating out, certainly if they want a tip! Poor service tends to dilute the whole eating out experience.

I wish that I raised the poor service whilst in the restaurant, but it was a family meal out, so didn't want to create an atmosphere.

I would like to think that this was a one-off, as visits to other 7Bone restaurants have been positive. This was not.

Arrived for opening time. Drove from Birmingham with kids and this was on our way to our end destination. Husband had seen it on Instagram and wanted to check it out. The pictures Online are not like what you get. Guy who took our order needed to know how to smile and generally be better when taking an order. Miserable. Not a great start. Girl who was on a trial and girl who bought food over were both really lovely (we came yesterday.) Went to change my baby and chef came out of the disabled/ladies/babychange toilet and did not wash his hands. I heard the flush and door straight open and then straight back into the kitchen which is next to the toilets. Safe to say we wouldn’t go back. Buns for burgers should be much better. Not over exaggerating this is just the truth. Most of the staff looked bored and unhelpful.

Wondering how this place is still open as it hides reviews when truth is told the food is not what they make it out to be it's totally crap dripping in cooking oil staff have no manners and are ignorant to customers that complain the management should be ashamed to run a business this way also hygiene is not top of list either tables are sticky where not washed staff seen to stick finger in nose then serve food disgusting would not recommend to eat here at all

Tried to get dinner tonight. Says everywhere on line they close at 10 but wouldn’t let us in at 9.15- such a shame as your food is good but I won’t be returning! Change your hours as it’s totally misleading

Real shame, we have called before to order a take away as we live about 20 mins away. It means it's ready to go when we get there, it's ideal with 2 yr old. Unfortunately the lady that answered the phone just said no we would have to come in and wait as they couldn't store the food, wouldn't even let me finish my sentence before she said ok bye. Needless to say customer service needs to be looked at and no more take away for us.

Just tried to get food at 2115. Both Facebook and google state open until 2200. Such a shame as the food is actually good but kitchen closing an hour before actual closing seems a bit excessive for “fast food”!
