Our last job of the week in this glorious sunshine - moving Hopper 'Leabrooks' to site to begin her first job since being converted into an Excavator Carrying Platform. Delivered by our Pusher Tug 'Excellent', 'Leabrooks' will be assisting CRT with Bank Protection works following the Easter break, with her four hydraulic legs providing a stable area for our Kubota KX71 Excavator to operate from and allowing easy access to sites which otherwise would be unsafe or impossible to get an Excavator to. We always enjoy recieving images of our vessels and plant hard at work, and these images are no exception - taken by a Canal and River Trust Supervisor yesterday it shows a pretty impressive convoy of vessels heading back to Icknield Port after the completion of works on the stoppage at Farmer's Bridge, inclduing our Materials Carrying Vessel 'Galton', Powered Carrying Vessel 'Diamond' and our Pusher Tug 'Enterprise', all expertly steered we might add!

Kickstarting the new week with another new addition to the hire fleet - our 1 Tonne Ausa High Lift Dumper. Fitted with ROP's frame and rough terrain tyres, this machine is ideal for transporting materials from site to skip for easy waste disposal etc, whilst at a width of 3FT 10" it is also ideal for those narrow, hard to access work sites.

Welcoming the latest addition to the fleet, 'Galton' - a 70ft long unpowered, materials carrying vessel, with a high carrying capacity, ideal for large quantities of scaffolding, heras fencing, lock gates and pumps etc for stoppage works - acquired in late 2018, and now hard at work with CRT West Midlands on Farmers Bridge.

Sorry we've been a little quiet on here guys, of late! Happy (somewhat belated!) New Year to all of our followers ... and what a busy start to the year we've had! As January saw us manoeuvring a multitude of our vessels across the canal network to their new work sites, ensuring they are ready to assist with CRT's busy early 2019 stoppages programme!

Yikes! Where has the summer gone?! Here we are completing our last of 5 Summer weed clearance runs on the Bradley Arm this week. This year we have handled exceptional amounts of weeds due to all that lovely sunshine we've experienced, and this run seems to be much of the same, with 3 x 70ft hoppers filled with weed already ... although the weather is a little different 💨 ☔️!

An eventful week on our monthly summer weed clearances on the Bradley arm last week - with a colossal volume of weed collected after all this hot weather has accelerated its growth - whilst CRT were busy replacing failed pumps in the shaft at Bradley too!

Off to a great start this morning with the delivery of our brand new Excavator Carrying Pontoon to #CRTWestMids at #hatton ahead of their latest piling works. A tried & tested design, this vessel will be a welcome addition to the rest of our fleet of specially crafted Pontoons! Fitted with four hydraulic legs and loading ramps, these shallow draught vessels provide stable platforms from which to operate excavators safely, & are especially useful for difficult to reach working areas.

We're back on the Bradley Arm this week, for the second of the five summer weed clearance runs we have scheduled ... we kickstarted the clearance with the removal of this hulk of a trolley from Glass House Bridge yesterday - safe to say it's now much easier to pass through this bridge hole! Is it us or are trolleys getting bigger?! 🤣

*Dusts cobwebs off* Whoops! Sorry we have been a bit neglectful of our Facebook page of late, it's been pretty hectic at our end! However, here's an update on what we were up to just last week, which saw us returning to our annual Weed Clearance contract with CRT West Midlands and the Fountains Group. As you can see, we collected and disposed of a huge amount of weed which otherwise would have been hindering the efficiency of this important feeder arm - so a job well done we think!
