Went to these lovely people with a abortion of a tattoo on my foot/leg and they took it on and sorted a cover up for it and they have done a cracking job! The healing process they advise is better than any other I have had and it's healed better than any of my other tattoos in the past. I strongly recommend these guys they have all made me feel very welcome and I have felt at ease there just normal down to earth people �.... I would never go anywhere else for my tattoos thanks stu and Carly I cannot thank you enough xxxx

Went to abacus to get my first tattoo with my girlfriend, obviously being a first tattoo, there may be nerves, me and my girlfriend were quite nervous. As soon as we got there, they were straight forward about what we wanted and explained properly how small tattoos would go, they were very patient with us, very appreciative of that, especially the lady behind the counter, I asked 4-5 times about different things, she was wonderful. Then when it came to the tattoos ( I was worked on by Neal) everyone was really kind and understanding, especially Neal, very reassuring and helpful through the process, my tattoo came out great and it was a pretty fun experience, definitely going there again.

Thank you so much for our friendship butterfly's they look amazing we are all so pleased with our tattoos will definitely be back next time am in Darby xx

I have such a huge love for this place and the people who work here. I've had all of my piercings done here mainly by Kat (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) and I had the best experience. Shes made me feel comfortable and kept my mind off of everything. Not to mention that not a single piercing has gone wrong even though my body never takes to piercings and the aftercare I purchased whilst here has been incredible and has lasted on 3 piercings over 3 months.

The staff are so friendly and I would recommend this place to absolutely everyone. �

I had my daith done last week. Which is a big step for me as i suffer with anxiety and to say i was panicking would be a massive understatement. I rang Then to give them a heads up of how nervous i was and the girl i spoke to reassured me and even offered lollipops!!! When i got there anxiety again kicked in but they were so patient with me and the same gurl i spoke to on the phone did the piercing. Her name was Siobhan. I will most definitely be recommending to everyone and i love showing off my new piercing. I think Siobhan deserves a recognition as it isn't an easy job calming someone down with anxiety but she did it perfectly. Thanks guys and see you in a few weeks for my bar change. �

I got my first tattoo here and they were very accommodating for what I wanted and the same day. Stuart was hilarious and love that he tells it like it is. If you want a robot or someone to kiss up to you then go get a personal assistant. These are professional artists and they did excellent work in great time and made it how I wanted. Getting another from them this week. Couldn't ask for better.

Had my nose pierced by Demi went back in to get it changed as I was struggling to do it myself, Demi sorted me out it was really quick and easy! She's a star!!

Had my helix done today, really nice staff and although I was nervous the lady I had was really calming and it was quickly done and over I was very happy

Had a diver added to a tattoo to sparkle it up a bit and I love it. The staff are so friendly as well really helped. O yeah no it didn't hurt ��

clean studio, artwork very good, tattoo done fast. However the tattoo kept bleeding under the clingfilm they tapped across it leading to me having to remove it with in half an hour of having the tattoo done. When checked in a mirror noticed TWO puncture wounds around the tattoo which were nothing to do with it which were causing the blood. After care just a sheet thrown at me with everything on it totally different to every other tattoo studio I have been to. I will be checking my tattoo over next few days, if I get any problems or infections you will be hearing from me legally.

I have had 6 piercings here n all have lumps and have gone strange!!!! My friend had a forward helix piercing elsewhere which is fine then had another here and it has a lump whereas her other one doesn't. I find it strange that all the piercings are £10 each when good piercing shops are usually around £30. Makes you wonder. I clean all my piercings thoroughly and take good care of them yet they still go like this.

Truly awful! I came to Abacus to have my tongue pierced having previously had it done elsewhere, I ended up at Abacus as another local piercing studio had closed for the day. I went in, paid then sat on a very decrepit looking sofa waiting for the piercer. My tongue wasn’t marked and I wasn’t asked to check the location of the piercing. Having had over 30 piercings I know what to expect, this was different, no asking if I was ready, no countdown no breath in and out and pierce, oh no this needle was just shoved through my tongue quite brutally! My main issue is however the absolutely awful placement, not in the middle and far to far forward so much so when I came home and showed my husband he actually asked if a child had done it! It was truly awful- see photo in comments. I took it out the next day on recommendation for a very well renowned piercing shop.

I have since messaged Abacus to air my concerns at their practices and I got a reply that shows a distinct lack of empathy, concern or professionalism. The cheek- they have offered to repierce it! Like hell am I ever going back to Abacus!

My girlfriend had a tattoo here in July, of a purple butterfly which was supposed to fade light to dark from in to out.

Upon leaving the studio, she was told to use germalene as after care and keep covered with cling film for 2 days. The tattoo was bleeding like mad underneath the cling film, which she was told was normal. Neither of us being tattoo experts assumed this was fine. Little did we know what was to come!

The tattooist had dug the needle into her ankle so hard, that the tattoo has some major scar tissue. The tattoo was very very badly infected. After numerous trips to the doctors and calls to 111 and other professionals, we were told what had gone wrong, and were also told that Germalene is the worst thing to put on a tattoo as it draws out the ink. 3 weeks ago the tattoo had finally healed completely.

When emailing Abacus we were told that it wasn't infected but to come in and show them. We live 200 miles away and were in Derby for the weekend so we advised we wouldn't be able to. To which the rude staff member advised that we needed to come in. I think they just didn't want to admit what an absolute mess they'd made!!!

The tattoo 'blending' was more like just bare patches of skin inbetween purple.

Luckily, a professional tattooist (not sure you can call abacus tattooists that) did a touch up today, and practically re-did the whole tattoo, so now it looks fabulous- no thanks to Abacus!DO NOT GO HERE!!!

My daughter went for a second belly button piercing yesterday Late morning. When pierced it spurted blood out only for the piercer to say that's a lot of blood !! She then covered the piercing with kitchen roll and Sellotape !! And told her to keep it covered for a couple of hours and sent her on her way !!! The aftercare given was a sheet of paper with all piercings on. At 9.30 last night we took her to the hospital as it was still bleeding. They cleaned and covered it with advice on what to do !!! As a concerned parent I feel that my concerns are (a)that she shouldn't have been allowed to leave straight away (b) that kitchen roll was used and not a sterile swab (c) that there was no verbal aftercare other than ooh that's a lot of blood

Therefore I would not recommend these people for your children's piercings !!

I went in earlier to have my nose re-pierced after it healed up a few weeks ago inside. The woman pierced my nose back through with my old nose ring and not a needle. I'm sure that's wrong. I was in agony and even started crying because she was popping a piece of skin with a blunt nose ring. Thankfully another shop fixed my nose for me. What happened is ridiculous.

I usually go to the a different piercing studio, but one time I went to Abacus to get my scaffold pierced. From the moment if was being pierced I knew something was wrong, the lady tugged on my ear horribly, and there was some blood which would be fine if it had stopped. I later learned from another piercer that she didn't position it correctly, having pierced it through the thickest part of my ear. The only aftercare instructions received were a piece of paper and were advised to use salt water. I did as advised which made it really infected, so that was a trip to the doctors to get antibiotics, also caused severe headaches due to the piercing being so close to the head. That resulted in no sleep! I went back to the shop because the piercing started going backwards which made my skin grow over it, the lady said that it looks bad and that she's going to take it out and that's all she was going to do. Very appalling place.

Hi I came in earlier to get my lip pierced and as soon as I left the shop my friend had a look at it and noticed it wasn't central, it was off to the right. So when I got home I took it straight out because it was noticeably not in the centre of my lip. Can I come back for a refund? And I have pictures if you want to see. Thanks
