About Abbey Hill Steam Rally Limited

Abbey Hill Steam Rally Ltd. (02820665) is a non-profit organisation and is organised by a willing group of volenteers who form a committee. The rally was founded as a 'dog show' around 1980 and later grew to become a steam rally. The first main founders of the show was Mr Roger Bastable and Mr Derek Bowles. In 1983 the Steam Rally moved to the Yeovil site - Barwick Park (Yeovil Showground) and attracted over 6, 000 people through the gate. In 1993 Abbey Hill Steam Rally was registered as a limited company. The aim of the rally is to hold an event which the public and exhibitors can enjoy, whilst rasing funds for charity and to hold future events. Abbey Hill Steam Rally is an annual Steam Rally on the may day bank holiday weekend. The rally includes: Steam Engines, Classic Cars, Motorcycles, Tractors, Stationary Engines, Vintage Caravans and organs, Military Vehicles, Emergency Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Landrovers, Working Area, Stalls and craft, Autojumble and much more!
