Abbey Wood Club Site Description

Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site is a Caravan Club Golden Jubilee Site and feels positively rural when you reach this gently sloping verdant site. Its mature tree screening and spacious grounds make this a 'green oasis'. This site's unique selling point is it's location - there are shops and good railway connections, providing frequent services to central London in just 35 minutes, within walking distance of the caravan site. Alternatively, nearby Greenwich offers its own blend of fascinating attractions, including the famous observatory and National Maritime Museum.

Wooded site, easy walking distance to the station, which is currently being upgraded . Also a good bus service .

Waitrose is walking distance,as the local shops are not great.

The facilities as more than adequate, lots of hot water in the showers.

The staff are friendly and proud of their site.

Humerous side, the local fox enjoys left over pizza, bread and droë wors!

User

Wonderful site. Am on one of the shiny new service pitches. Love them.

The fence is a bit scary but once you get use to it the site becomes a tranquil spot so close the the heart of London. Set in a forest on the site of the hill with level pitches. Never had any problems with the staff either. Friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for more.

User

We love this site and the close proximity to London. The train station is a 5 minute walk away and trains go direct to London Bridge in approx 30 minutes.

The site itself is a real hidden gem, an beautiful woodland setting on the outskirts of a housing estate. The site is fully secured and there are shops within walking distance too.

User

We have stayed at this site a couple of times now the cross rail is now working it's so much better 35 minutes into Charing Cross

We have stayed at Crystal Palace it's good but a pain to get to for us

We shall now always stay at abbey wood

It could do with super pitches but for short stops it's ok

User

We have been here a few times now and this is a great site to stay, warm friendly and easy access to train station to get in and out of London.

User

This site is very pretty, nice and peaceful and is well maintained. The wardens are very helpful and friendly. Abby Wood is close to both good bus services and railway links which is great for getting to the centre of London. No parking fees or finding a space.

Our first time in London with our motor home, this is ideally located to be able to visit the capital, bus and train routes are easily found. For those just wanting a little relaxation, this is surprisingly peaceful, being so close to town and throwing distance of the city. The Abbey has lots of green spaces to visit and explore, with a coffee shop ideally placed for refreshments.

The site is what you would expect from the club network not disappointing with the cleanliness and quality of the facilities.

International, here, close to the city of London, British, Dutch, German, French Italian and other nationalities are, temporarily, neighbours who enjoy camping and visiting London. The site is immaculate, though shower facilities are a little dated. The team of wardens that run the site are hardworking men and women who are friendly, professional , knowledgeable and do all that's possible to make visitors' stay a happy one. Well done and thank you all. 5 minutes away is a regular bus service to Woolwich, Greenwhich, Lewisham etc. It's a 10 minute walk to Abbey Wood Train Station. Trains to Charing Cross and Canon Street station take 30 mins to reach London City. A great site and location.

User

I love this camping, its so clean and peaceful. With its own nature and funny squirrels etc.

So easy to get to the train station and bus services which makes it so easy to be able to move around specially if you have camper van (motorhome). Will be back for sure.

User

Great site, very peaceful considering it's in London. Transport into central London very easy. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Only downside is poor wifi which is frustrating when you have to pay for and then struggle with access although this problem needs to be managed better by the club and is not under the jurisdiction of the wardens.

User

Fantastic site. So quiet yet easily accessible into London also plenty buses. Lovely local shops that meets all needs. A very large Sainsburys too! Will definitely be back!

User

Fantastic site for sight seeing in the city. We come every year to do our christmas shopping. There is a bus stop only 5 mins walk , this goes to Greewich where you can pick up the DLR or underground. The station is only 10 mins walk and you can get the overground train into Charing Cross. Excellent

User

Fabulous site. Toilet/Shower blocks are spotless. Staff very friendly,10 min walk to train station and 30 min into central London. Perfect for sightseeing. Will be back thanks x

User

Best Campsite in London. Facilities are slightly old and basic but usually clean. The site is in what feels like a forest in the middle of London. The railway station is only minutes to walk and the trains take you right into London Bridge Station/ Cannon Street or Charing Cross - and they run every 10 minutes or so - even on the weekends. We've been here already 5 times and will definitely be back!

User

Another delightful visit this weekend, always a pleasure as it's such a lovely park. The multi level pitches, windy roads and plentiful, mature trees are beautiful & even when it's full you never feel crowded. Lots of showers & conveniences and all super clean. Fantastic job by all of the wardens who are friendly and fun making everyone feel welcome & relaxed. Thanks for a great stay!

User

Very convenient for London and very helpful staff with booking and on arrival. Beautiful site and generally clean and tidy with wide pitches and considerate guests. I really love it here. There is only one reason I haven't given a 5*. It was the way I was treated when I got caught out inside a toilet block during the 'cleaning time' as I'd managed to miss them when I'd gone in. I'd gotten out my shower cubicle about 5 minutes after official time. Two members of staff, after speaking to me like I was a complete idiot for being in there, refused to allow me to brush my teeth and instead hustled me out quite aggressively. Im so disappointed by this because the gentleman that spoke to me in that manner was the same one that went out of his way to show me a map of the Tube to help me with my journey. I think this should have been handled differently. Other than this incident the trip was perfect and we will be back - I'll just avoid the cleaning times.

User

Great site, amazing to be camping so close to London but in such peace. Visit once a year when running the London marathon. Only - comment is the showers are a bit dated, not the rest of the toilet block though which is super spotless as is the rest of the site. So handy for visiting town.

User

The price is absolutely to hight for this kind of camp especially if you use a own tent but typically English prices - much money for not specially much service.
