Nice clean hotel rooms, staff very friendly an polite
we stayed for 3 nights for my birthday as a treat, it was not cheap, and although the staff were lovely the bed was terrible, the mattress was so thin and acient with every spring palable, but when we sat on it we actually went to the base, so slept on the base all night for 3 nights , well cant really say slept, as neither of us did that well. left with lots of backache and has it been cheap then so be it but it really wasnt, that mattress must have been more than 20 years old, not what i expect in a Bed and Breakfast. get your act together guys

Had a bad experience while staying at the Abbeydale. The shower was leaking from the room above us. The water was dripping onto my bed early Friday morning. I reported the problem. The staff assured me it was fixed. The water was dripping onto my bed early Saturday morning again. When mentioned the staff were not sympathetic at all. Who wants to stay in a hotel when water is leaking from the room above. Not a pleasant stay at all
Fantastic hotel, the owners were both very friendly, room was spot on and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend to others and use again.
Based on my personal experience, a nice hotel with very friendly staff who do their best to make your stay as nice as possible. The hotel is close to the town centre but in a quiet location. Water was always hot, average-sized room, ironing room available on request, tea/coffee/water in room, small TV with many stations.
My only problem was that the Wifi (not Broadband) was quite slow (an Engineer visit was scheduled, according to the owners of the hotel). If they get the WiFi sorted out (I am not the only person to have mentioned it) then this hotel will be one of the best in Chesterfield, in my opinion (I've stayed in 5).

Nice staff, comfortable rooms, and awesome breakfast. Faults are hard to find, my room smelt a little musty (room 4) and for the size of the room it could do with a larger tv. Also while I'm on technology you can't get WiFi in that room, maybe a booster would help. Overall lovely place to stay.
