Abbots Court Rural Escape Description
In a large rambling Victorian farmhouse sleeping 22 guests, known as Abbots Court, you will be provided with not only luxury accommodation, but the chance to experience an escape from modern life and a nostalgic trip to a time when things were simpler coupled with every comfort that you could wish for.
Nestled in five acres of its own woodland, meadow and boasting its own original walled garden, guests will be able to enjoy the simpler things in life - lazy walks through the grounds, big roaring fires and spending time with the people they love.
We welcome private hires, meetings, events & weddings. Full detail of all of our plans announced 2020.

Our relaxing Rural Dorset Retreats is a mindfulness retreat day ran by the talented The Cedar Tree 🌷 A full day of yoga, essential oils, relaxation, therapies and a delicious plant-based lunch created by our chefs.
After a successful season of cosy winter retreats, we are now taking bookings for our Spring retreats in May 2019.

We've just stayed at Abbots Court overnight. A last minute booking and what a gem we found! Niki and Jez are the perfect hosts who have created the most relaxing and enjoyable retreat.
We stayed in the Berkshire room, spacious, amazingly comfortable bed, a huge ensuite with a roll top bath.
Dinner was beyond what we expected, with each course present and described by the staff in fine detail - each dish was so fresh and flavoursome.
We loved the old vinyl and record player in the bar- some lovely gins!
A very special place and highly recommended.
We stayed at Abbots Court on 10th March to celebrate our wedding anniversary and treated ourselves the beautiful and luxurious Saddleback room. We had such a fantastic time. We were completely wowed from the moment we arrived. Beautiful setting, roaring fires, stylish and cosy accommodation, fantastic food and wine. We especially loved drinking, chatting and playing records in the snug bar. Nikki and Jez are wonderful hosts, their team professional and friendly. They couldn’t do enough for us. We felt thoroughly spoiled. Thank you for a memorable stay.
We have just spent the most lovely evening in this fab new place!!! Absolutely amazing dinner, fantastic brekky, beautiful surroundings and great wine!! The owners (who own the tickled pig restaurant too) were so so so lovely!!! Couldn’t recommend this enough!!

I have just returned from staying for just one night whilst visiting family nearby and what a find! Abbots Court is beautifully decorated and feels homely with very thoughtful touches such as fresh milk with the drinks tray in the bedroom rather than the dreaded UHT.
Niki was the perfect host and made me feel like a visiting friend. Even the pigs were pleased to see me though their joy turned to disappointment upon the realisation I had no food for them.
I am already planning my return.
