Well Christmas may be over but we still have plenty to look forwards to here at the Abbot's Fireside! Our regular music nights are up and running again from 25th January, kicking of with our ever-popular Neil Diamond tribute. As well as this we have some special offers running throughout January to combat the winter blues, including a free bottle of wine for any couple ordering two courses or more! How's that for a Christmas present?

Abbot's Fireside is now FULLY BOOKED for New Year's Eve, however our sister pub is FREE ENTRY so if you missed out then The Duke of Cumberland is the place to be!

We are now taking bookings for New Year's Eve! With a full Kentish tasting menu, wine pairings, live entertainment and more - It's an event not to be missed!

What better place to welcome in the New Year than our beautiful 15th Century Inn? In addition to the quaint and homely surroundings we are offering a six-course tasting menu to shine a spotlight on the amazing local produce from the Elham Valley and beyond. Each course will be carefully prepared by our passionate chefs and carefully paired with a wine selected from our extensive list.
As well as all this we have some excellent entertainment from Wayne Bridle who is guarantee...d to get toes tapping and hips wiggling to the early hours of the morning.

What a fabulous night away with delicious food and fabulous service. We'll definitely be coming back soon.

Upon entering the building we were immediately warmly greeted. The service was gracious and quick. We felt at home there and have even discussed contacting them about our upcoming wedding. I would recommend to everyone.

The friendly welcoming greeting that we were met with was just the beginning of an excellent evening at this beautiful hotel. The five courses that followed were top quality homemade food, presented beautifully and served in a friendly professional manor. This hotel is a must for anyone that loves top quality food at an excellent price. We will be back very soon. The new managers Mark and Charly deserve all the success with this new venture. Highly recommended

Stayed here over night on the way to the Eurotunnel. Beautiful building and lovely food. Service was excellent, they even kept the kitchen open for us when we were delayed. Only sorry that our visit was so short!

Came here early for friends wedding and stayed 3 nights. On arrival were greeted by the friendly staff/ owners who made us feel instantly welcome, The food is amazing and plentiful . The hospitality and organisation for the wedding was exceptional. Would thoroughly recommended this quirky old inn that dates back the best part of 500 years. The owners were very hands on and didn't seem to rest much as they there from morning till night we will be returning in the future.

Amazing pub 15 minutes from the tunnel , lovely welcome as we were so late and even our host cooked for us even though the kitchen was shut , fabulous G&T to go with it ! Would recommend a stop here to anyone after a little piece of true English history . Fantastic comfy beds stunning rooms great breakfast . Be back again for sure - and they love dogs too .

Absolutely gorgeous venue in a beautiful area. Super friendly and wecoming staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere. Really recommend.

A while since I stayed here but had a fantastic couple of nights in lovely rooms. Good was brilliant and staff were great too.

Went for breakfast this morning before a family funeral. Breakfast plus tea was £13 per head. The chef was lovely but the whole experience was ruined when the lady of the establishment accused us of being thief’s for keeping our used miniature disposable jam jars !! She was very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable even though we had apologised and handed them back to her . It worries me that she took the jam back when they were used .

Unfortunately having been made to feel so uncomfortable we will not go back there again !!!
