Abbott Lodge - Saha Description

Abbott Lodge, Salvation Army Housing Association homeless hub, is a landmark building offering a new approach to supporting homeless people to break the cycle of homelessness.
The 20 bed scheme, opened in autumn 2011, consists of ten on suite rooms and ten self-contained move on flats.

The vision for the project is to provide a new approach to support homeless people and help break the cycle of homelessness. Abbott Lodge focus on stabilising residents at the point of access through multi-agency partnership assessments of health, welfare and housing needs and support to acquire basic life skills before appropriate move on to accommodation and support options that best meet the needs and wishes of the individual. All bedrooms are en-suite and there are kitchen facilities available for use by residents.

The self-contained move-on flats located alongside the hub, create an internal pathway giving residents the opportunity for developing independent living skills whilst still being able to take advantage of the hub's support and engagement activities, before moving on to live independently in the community.

The building also contains a light, airy and welcoming reception area, and communal space for healthcare, interview and advice services, training and engagement activities.
