There are a number of negatives I could point out about this hotel, instead I would an overview of them. Shower needs a little TLC, room beverages require checking daily and a coiled extension lead in the room is a no no. The manager and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is nice and isolated, with great views.

We were at Abel's Harp for my sons wedding on Saturday 12th and we had a wonderful time ..they people who run it could not have been more helpful and so kind to all the children who were there ..especially their own children who helped to entertain them and make sure they were safe. The food was lovely and its a really quirky place with beautiful views over the Shropshire countryside. The people who run it have only been there 4 months and I am sure they will keep improving it and lits of plans they were all so hard working and friendly including the young lady who cooked breakfast.. Sorry didn't get name ..she also waitressed cleaned rooms etc ..multi tasking was what they all did.. Thanks again for an amazing day..

We went to view this venue for a wedding and booked it the next day. Amazing view overlooking the whole valley. Quirky decorations everywhere and a great relaxed atmosphere. Hosts are very warm and welcoming

Lovely setting and surroundings. Comfortable and clean. Our room was very noisy. No soundproofing. Could hear all the showers on the floor, our neighbours on the loo and woken well before 8am by noise from the kitchen/dining room. Food was forgettable and minimal portions served without a smile or offer of any condiments and no choice of white or brown toast. Make your own tea from a flask of hot water. How hard would a teapot be really?

Very unorganized on arrival. Food was nice at dinner, pudding disappointing though. Too much noise from kids running up and down stairs second night. Drinks overpriced and food overpriced for what it is. Room run down and shower needs a deep clean and refurb. No wardrobe in room, and bed uncomfortable. King size, but 2 lumpy mattresses shoved together. Ants in bed also!

Due to bad reviews on trip advisor was quite worried on our stay for 2 nights that we booked through wowcher. Looks like new management and was quite satisfied. The room we stayed in was clean although was 2 single beds put together to make one, not good! the food was brilliant, evening menu prices were high and not a lot of choice, not enough vegetarian choices either 1 breakfast and 1 evening. Bar very pricey. Road very awkward to gain entrance to place.

We stayed in the cabins up on the hill, very basic but cosey with amazing views. Good breakfast!! Overall a very good stay!!

Excellent service the staff went above and beyond. Absolutely fantastic hotel and amenities. Food was amazing and to a high standard. Love the querkyness and shabby chic affect. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be booking again. Thanks again👍
