User

We have been many times, it is my favourite restaurant, the food is always piping hot, perfectly cooked, I love the cornbread pudding it is lovely

User

We are here Tuesday 29th May in the evening. We had lovely food and a nice waitress. Only one complaint: the ketchup was cheap and nasty.

User

Popped in today for a quick lunch mid shopping trip.

Served by two very lovely ladies. It was clean, comfortable, great service. Had a burger whilst my daughter had a slider off the kids menu. Food was served promptly and tasted fabulous. Would definately return and recommend to others. Thank you to the staff at Absurd Bird

User

Not only was it great to win the bottomless wings competition, but the food, drink and service was amazing! From the moment we walked in, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and even with the restaurant being fully booked the service did not slip. The wings were fab...I don’t think I’ve seen chicken wings that big! Cocktails were great with a good selection to get though on the menu! All in all a great evening

User

Lovely place. Only been twice but had a great experience both times.

Visited last night with our son for his birthday. We all love chicken wings and they didn't disappoint. Big, piping hot with plenty of sauce although at £17.50 for 12 we think a tad expensive.

Our main courses, a Nashville wrap £8.45, Absurd fondue £9.95 and a Buffalo chicken burger £11.95 were delicious. Good sized portions and tasty. A side order of mac & cheese £5.55 was okay but nothing special.

We ordered two peanut butter cheesecakes, £11.10, and to the horror of our son, it was his 27th birthday, one arrived with a candle along with three staff who promptly burst into a rendition of happy birthday!

After three cappuccinos, £8.40, which were luke warm, we received our £80.30 bill.

Absurd Bird is a lovely place with rocking chairs and swings to sit on at the tables and the food is good and the staff friendly and welcoming.

User

Just returned and had a lovely meal. Not many veggie options which is to be expected in a way (it’s not called absurd salad after all) but I loved the mushroom stack.

Staff service was really good despite it being very busy, and when we asked if a drink could be changed (nothing was wrong with it, just not liked) this was done with no questions asked and not charged! Really impressed.

User

Great service excellent food and lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff and superb cocktails!!!!!! 10 outta 10 for everything and the cocktails are fab too!!!!!! Thanks for a lovely evening!!!!!!!

User

From the minute we walked in and were greated by front of house it was good!!The chap that showed us to our table was friendly and efficient. The bubbly lady with the headscarf is by far the loveliest most professional front of house we have ever met.Everything explained, and so friendly. The two spanish/South American waitresses were brilliant too.(wecenjoyed conversing in spanish)As for the food it was delicious...best starter was spinich/artichoke.....best meal was waffles and chicken. We were so full but we took peanut butter cheesecake home for later.

highly reccommended definatly return my new favourite place .xxthankyou

User

Came in on Saturday lunchtime and the food was very good but the service was excellent. Alba was great, very professional but had a giggle with my daughter and her friend and they loved it. Thanks x

User

All you can eat wings and bottomless beer what’s not to like. Food was awesome and the staff are great

User

great place, awesome chicken dishes but the cheese fondue I was so excited about tasted like a veggie cream soup, not sure if there was any cheese in it

User

In general a great place friendly staff but a few things would put me off going back, the root beer was foul I know not a lot of people drink it but that was nearly the worst I've have had the smell alone will stick with me , the ice tea was bland and did not work with the flavour of the food.

I heard great things about the portion sizes but was let down by them myself. I ate half a chicken a sharer side and most of a sharer desert not to mention I shared 2 starters with my wife and went home not full which for the price is bad. That all being said the food was good the fried pickles were amazing and would make me go back. The general ambiance of the place was perfect.

I loved the fact that they acknowledged babies in pram as part of the party of dinners. It's the small touches that make places like this worth the extra.

User

Great atmosphere and good customer service. The food was tasty but could do with some salad or veg on the side as the plates look beige! Not the place to go for a fancy dinner but lovely all the same. Would definitely go back.

User

Went along for the first time Saturday night. Arrived 7 ish but sent away as too busy then and advised to come back in hour or so which we did & happily given a table, however we did not receive any food for well over an hour & then to be told waffle machine broken please re order !!! Eventually has food hour & half later in total - unacceptable !!

However was offered free drink each but as we left the manager who was fantastic greatly reduced our bill & offered discount on our return! Worth giving them another chance !

User

We have been quite a few times and enjoyed the food. Went today with the family the menu is very limited now!! they have taken alot off. Food was poor, prices have gone up but dish sizes are smaller . And one thing that annoyed me are the prices are displayed without vat then added to the bill so for a very average burger you are paying well over the odds.

User

Arrived early at the restaurant and the food delivery was still all over the floor in the restaurant. Maybe we picked badly - had the chicken wrap with rice and sweet corn salad and beans... I expected it to be like a burrito but the chicken was hot and the rice was cold? Really didn’t enjoy it. Customers behind complained about their food and the waitress rolled her eyes very obviously as she walked back to the bar area. Didn’t enjoy it....food wasn’t great and neither was the service ...

User

Not impressed at all, won’t be revisiting , we had the special discounted lunch time menu and you could see it was a cheaper option, service wasn’t the greatest, the chicken in my burger only filled half my bun . Won’t return

User

I visited your restaurant on Sunday 28th January for a birthday celebration. The food was fantastic however I was extremely disappointed by the customer service. We were first greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to our table and was happy to wait for our drinks order as there were many of us.

Our waitress then changed to another lady called Becky? She took our order and the name was on the receipt so I take it that is her name. She took our order and seemed to be quite pleasant until some of the order became slightly more complexed with some people not wanting to have salads on there burgers etc. Becky then started to become quite rude which made it very uncomfortable. Once our order was taken we could see we were being spoken about to other members of staff.

Once of food came the plates were slammed down on the table making it very awkward. Other tables were being asked if they meal was okay but we saw her walk past and mutter under her voice ‘chatting shit’ in a direction to our table which was spotted by several people from our party. When it came to the bill as a group of 8 we had to pay a discretionary charge that we couldn’t dispute paying as there were more then six of us. However we felt the service was not worthy of any service charge. As two of the party have worked in hospitality, one even being part of a management team in a well established restaurant, we know how important customer service. It’s a real shame as the food was amazing and we would love to go again but the customer service from the one individual was dreadful. I have sent an email of compliant but as of yet have not received a reply, very disappointing and definitely shows a lack of customer care.
