Academics Against Assault

A student founded campaign with a mission for mandatory enthusiastic consent education across Universities. We believe that the elevation of sexual violence, within University campus settings, can be prevented with universal consent education, workshops and the eradication of rape culture. We are working with student-led spaces and consent education experts across the UK to lobby Universities and make education an accessible space for all. Our surveys demonstrate the impacts of sexual violence on students, and statistics validate how this disproportionally discriminates against women and minority students. Additionally, our surveys reveal an absence of consent education in many students, with many students' last memories of sex education between age 12-14. We recognise this to be inadequate, and demand thorough but inclusive consent education to be required within higher education.
