Plastic Bottles... They are making the news everywhere you look. The oceans are full of plastic and for the first time humans have been found to have tiny plastic particles within their bodies. It's shocking. The environmental cost of making polyester remains high. So what can, we as runners do about it?... Well for a start we can choose a brand to run in that already has an environmental policy in place that exceeds current legislation. Fair Trade and Bluesign are just the tip of the iceberg. The fashion industry is notorious when it comes to affecting the environment. So we can all make the call and the next time we recycle a plastic bottle, ask yourself will you be wearing it tomorrow? Today was the last race in the Gritstone Series. This year we had 7 amazing people who completed the True Grit- they have done every race in the series. What a way to end the Gritstone Series 2018- an amazing sunny but cold day for Grin n Bear Fell Race. A brilliant race - well done to Simon Rippon and all the Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team for putting on such a great event.

Come and join us for a coach-led session designed to develop your speed endurance, build your strength, and work towards improving your race times from 5k through to marathon! All with a bit of fun mixed in for good measure!
All are welcome - the session can be adapted to you whether you are an old hand or completely new to interval training. All sessions will be based in and around the Olympic Legacy Park so there is no worry of being left behind - everyone can work to their... own pace and needs.
Meet at 6:30pm at Accelerate to have a group run down to the park, or meet us at 6:45 at the OLP if needed!
Sessions cost £3 per person, and you need to bring weather suitable clothing and an idea of a recent race time (or target time).

Looks like we're in for a sunny, but cold weekend. So what's everyone up to? Debs & Stu will be at the final race for the Accelerate Gritstone Series - 'Grin 'n' Bear It' at Langsett. Really looking forward to seeing how the series unfolds and congratulating the True Grit runners, who've completed all of the races! The 51st OMM takes place in the Black Mountains. On the road, locally we have Worksop Half Marathon. Plus there are local cross country & Trust 10 races. Whatever you're up to enjoy!

Training for my first marathon so decided it's about time I invested in some good running shoes. Always heard good reviews about this shop from others and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent... I not only got advice about which shoes would be best for me but also received tips about running style etc. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly - will definitely be coming back in the future!

This shop is awesome and I will certainly be back again soon. The staff were extremely friendly, down to earth and helpful. I came out with just what I needed, which was a very reasonably priced backpack and waterholder vest (I'm sure there is a proper name, but I just don't know it. ) I'll be back soon for some new trail shoes as the selection looked great. Thank you!

Quick visit today to swap some trainers, no fuss, very helpful staff, and got a free brew out of it too! Looking forward to getting my new Saucony Koa TR's next week

Popped in with my partner (my first ever visit) with the intention of buying a pair of trail shoes..

In short, measured my feet, looked at my gait on the treadmill then gave me a number of shoes to try.

When I had finally settled on a pair, I was invited to take them on a test run around the block!

I decided these were the ones.. then after further thought decided that maybe they weren’t.

With some trepidation I rung the shop the next day to enquirie if I could change the unworn shoes.

‘Absolutely ‘ I was told.. and an hour later we were heading back home with a pair of saucony peregrines.

The advise, patience and general level of customer service we experienced was excellent.

I was even invited to go on the shops regular Tuesday night trail runs.. awesome.

Thanks to all the staff who dealt with us on our first visit .

You’ll definitely be seeing us again. 👍

Nipped in today after being told elsewhere I needed proper stability shoes. Fabulous 1 to 1 service, well 2 to 1 really! Took ages to make up my mind as usual but was never pressured or cajoled or hurried or anything. Took 2 pairs of shoes outside for a road test with no requirement to purchase. Cannot rate the experience highly enough. They even cured my daughter's hiccoughs! Can't wait to give my new Mizunos a proper outing. Oh and it turns out I don't need stability shoes after all!

It's not unusual to pop in for a new set of shoes and to end up with a cuppa in hand, trying ten different pairs, getting a good workout on the treadmill and advice on core stability and stretching while you're at it. It's great to shop somewhere where the staff know their stock well and can help identify what works for you rather than just pushing a such-and-such a brand and chasing commissions etc. Thanks for all the help guys!

I received excellent service in the shop today. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and even provided toys for my 2 unruly children! Nicola helped me try on numerous pairs of shoes and gave a really personal service. Thanks so much for helping me over come my phobia of buying the wrong trainers! I would highly recommend Accelerate

I have been trying to get hold of a pair of Montrail Mountain Masochist shoes for several months, since buying my first pair in the USA. After several failed attempts, I found Accelerate and my new shoes have arrived today. A big thank you to Debs, great service and really helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone.

Had a pleasant short jog with the 50+ team. Once warmed up we did a few exercise drills for a better running technique then a chatty jog back followed by tea.

Great experience! I can now run without pain.

Great in house physio service too...they managed to get me through a 50km challenge in the Peak District at short notice...couldn't have done it without them! Will definitely be using their services again!

Amazing service again today, after having a few problems with my trainers I went back to the Accelerate today and managed to get a different pair... the service I had from Stuart and I think Bev (sorry if I got your name wrong) was amazing nothing was too much trouble, they took time to make sure the trainers fitted... thank you �

Amazing customer service!!!! The trainers I ordered were not in stock after I had placed my order online, but I received a call to say that they had arranged for them to be sent direct from the manufacturers after they had finished making them!! Proper British manufacturing and customer service at it best!! Keep up the good work!!

A running shop so good I came back from Leamington Spa for their help and advice! Impressive selection of shoes suitable for someone with wonky feet & ankle, Thank you Debs for your time and patience (again), the new shoes rock :)
