I recently did an access audit at New Brewery Arts in Cirencester. It's a lovely place to visit and has lots on offer for people with disabilities. Please read my full review in the link below.

Below is a video about Access to Work, which is a Government scheme set up to help disabled people into paid employment. They can offer support in all sorts of ways such as a support worker or paying for adjustments to be made to a current or potential employers workplace such as equipment.
I feel very lucky to have been able to employ my personal assistant via the Access to Work scheme to enable me to be able to run my business.
If any of my friends with disabilities have ...an idea for a self-employed business I would urge you to get in contact with Access to Work who may be able to offer you a support worker. You will need to provide them with a business plan of how your business will generate revenue and what your daily tasks will involve. You even have the freedom to hire your own support worker who you think will be suitable for the job.

Disability rights have set up an interim fund of £250,000 to support disabled candidates to run for office. The ‘EnAble Fund for Elected Office’ went live in December 2018 and will be delivered by Disability Rights UK supported by the Local Government Association. It will help candidates with the additional financial costs associated with a disability.

I have some exciting news for the business, I have employed a new personal assistant today and I am excited for her to start to see what new ideas and enthusiasm for the business she can bring to the table! She is passionate about improving accessibility for all and shouting that message out far and wide! A big welcome to Tasha and thanks for joining my team.

I feel very lucky that during my working day I get to meet and speak to so many inspirational and interesting people. Richard Graham being one of them, here is a picture of us on warmer days outside Gloucester Cathedral

Big thank you to Jason Smith for inviting me to work in the new offices with the Marketing Gloucester team. Their newly refurbished office above Eastgate Shopping Centre is fully accessible for my wheelchair.

I attended an access auditing course last week in London. It was very interesting and I learnt lots of new skills that I look forward to putting into practice.

Bad customer service received here for this poor disabled gentleman.. Why can't they have a seat or more reserved for disabled passengers all the of the time, without mechanics having to remove them specifically?
Able bodied passengers are able to book a spontaneous trip on a coach, but wheelchair users are required to give 24 hours notice? Train and coach travel really does have a long way to go for wheelchair users.

I visited the new bus station in Gloucester last week.. Now called Gloucester Transport Hub. It is a massive improvement on the previous bus station and it is nice to see that accessibility has been in mind during the build. What are your thoughts on the new station if you have visited?

This is great news!
