These guys are a font of knowledge! Great nerdy den tucked away just off the high street. Well worth a visit. Great selection of games, collectibles, comics and graphic novels.

I'm not into comic books but my partner is, I've been in here a few times with him and without. The staff (sorry don't know names) have always been lovely to me. Very helpful and don't make me feel like I ought to know more than I do, willing to have a chat that makes me feel included. I'll be going back in soon, to shop for Christmas and birthday presents for my other half. Keep up the good work Ace comics xx

I discovered this shop because another business I use in Southend recommended them. It's not out on the high street, but if you turn off on the corner of Waterstones you'll find them hidden away.
The first time I went in I was impressed by the amount of products and the way everything is laid out so you can see it. You won't be digging through dead stock to find something you want, the place is spacious and invites you to browse.
Speaking of inviting, Russ and Lee are also great helping you out. I went in wanting dice months ago, now I go in every Wednesday for the latest comic books (which they seem to have all), and I wasn't even collecting comic books, I just looked at a Bruce Lee board game which was too expensive at the time for me, but Russ pointed out there was a Bruce Lee comic book for significantly less.
Their service has continued to be great. They will put aside whatever you want, so whenever I go in they already have the latest issues of what I'm collecting under the counter. But it's still never a quick visit as I'll get caught up perusing other new releases by the counter, or just chatting about what I'm reading with Lee and Russ. It's a very friendly and fun environment.
I like supporting local business' as I feel when you find a good one you get genuine friendly service and unbiased advice on your purchases. If you see something in Ace and know you might save a few pennies going to a big web store then keep in mind that you're not just getting the product at Ace, you're helping keep a business running that you can go hang out with your friends, play games and read comics.

good selection but not always got what i need love the community but don't really get much out the staff that much, kind of seem big headed and condescending sometimes but i would still recommend it.
