Good food but can be drafty if you sit near the door. Quite crowded when full because it's not a large pub. Service though was excellent.

Had a Christmas meal with friends and it was lovely. Three courses, enormous portions and very hot. The staff, as usual, were excellent. Can't fault it. Wonderful place to eat.

Visited at midday last Thursday. Menu looked promising but the food was really disappointing. Tough, tasteless chicken in the pie and the same problem with the filled Yorkshire pudding. All very stodgy and cheap tasting. I think rather than increasing prices they have reduced the quality of ingredients. We sat in the conservatory and the tables are so close that you can't move your chair to get out once everyone's seated! It's a shame because the staff are really nice and it's a great pub.

The Sunday lunch was lovely. Very tasty and hot. Good service but booking is recommended. 10/10

Always a warm welcome here, great team of waiters and waitresses. Nice range of meals for a very reasonable price. Really good, honest pub grub. Will go back time and time again.

Great atmosphere quaint place and popular. Rated it a for star only because i wasn't happy with my pork belly meal. The meal was great except for the pork belly which was dry and needed to be softer and less dry. Berry happy with everything else though.

Very friendly helpful staff, good food, nice traditional pub atmosphere.

Upon entering I felt claustrophobic, however this is not to a detriment to the stop. It felt homely and welcoming. A warm and inviting nexus on the bus route into Sheffield city centre. Welcomed by friendly staff and pork sandwiches for a reasonable price, I enjoyed the locally sourced ale and curated gin. A drink and meal and I returned on my journey. With nothing but a lighter wallet and feelings of a warm and fuzzy variety. There is also a post box nearby.

Really down to earth little pub that serves superb meals. Varied quantity of beers & wines. Kid friendly, helpful food & bar servers who give service with a smile. Lovely grub and desserts, well worth a visit if you haven't already done so. Recently had the mixed grill & couldn't fault it, paid much more elsewhere which wasn't as good as the acorn. Every visit has been as good as the last, some of the chairs are close together, depending how many are in your group or the next table. Other than that can't fault it.

Just had lovely meal with my father after a trip to Chester

Good food at. Reasonable price. Staff are friendly and the outdoor play area is a great way to keep children entertained whole waiting for your food.

User

A generally nice place, the sign outside was a bit misleading however, explaining that 'Craft' beer was inside, but all I could find was generic Greene King ale. The fridge was equally bland. The coffee was very nice though.
