On June 1st Lettings Fees will be banned - ACORN is holding a national day of action to let lettings agents know that we're watching them if they break the law.
Come along to this meeting to plan what actions we're going to take and what lettings agents we'll be demanding to sign our pledge.
As it's a single, national action, some of the foundations have already been laid so this is a great chance to get involved in a short campaign and build the union.

A great time for new members in BS5 to get involved in planning and learn the ropes of how we work.
If you're a BS5 member, come along and get involved, we’re in it to bin it!

✊You may remember that ACORN member Cyrus's landlord tried to illegally evict him 3 times in recent months. Each time the evictions were resisted by Cyrus' fellow ACORN members.
The landlord tried taking it to court today - but we won once again and the eviction has been quashed!

Second time lucky...today members of ACORN BS3 paid a visit to Paul Goverd, Director of CJ Hole Southville, to again demand that they sign up to some basic minimum repair times.
This follows on from a range of complaints being made against CJ Hole from ACORN members and people we've spoken to on the doors; from repairs being repeatedly ignored to rents being jacked up the day before they move in.
Here's to hoping that CJ Hole listen and we don't have to try a third time!
... If you're having or have had any bad dealings with CJ Hole or you would like to get involved in our campaign, give us a message!

User

Wonderful community organisation that is doing so much for renters and social housing tenants experiencing issue with rogue landlords and shoddy housing.Ignore all the one star reviews and petulant insults being posted by angry rogue landlords and their chums.

User

These folks are the real deal. Get involved and build the Bristol we all need and deserve.

User

The best bunch of people who care about others.

Incredibly grateful for any help and advise from them .

User

Power to the people

User

If the government won't do it the people will, great organisation, houses should never be a commodity.

User

Great organisation.

User

Great organisation, very helpful and immediate support !

User

Giving a voice to vulnerable tenants and power to the people. These guys make a real, tangible difference locally, and the fact there are landlords and their mates trying to troll them online shows they're doing the job good. Respect guys

User

Fantastic organisation giving the most powerless and vulnerable a voice.

User

Do excellent work for the local community.

User

Amazing organisation, smashing it with social issues and amazing job in keeping the council tax reduction! GOOO ACORN!!

User

Acorn helped us out massively when we were revenge evicted by our landlord Northwood Bristol for refusing to pay £600 fees for a service that took 30 seconds

User

Acorn do an amazing job protecting and campaigning for any tenants, including someone the most vulnerable, that need help from landlords with no interest in really providing decent homes. Keep on winning!

User

Acorn are great. Louis and Nick helped me get a new boiler from my landlord and a reduced rent for the 3 months I spent with no hot water:-) a great group of real people power !

User

Acorn are great and have been really supportive with us in situations where Landlords and letting agents won’t pull their weight or have tried to rip us off.

Thankfully in a house now with a great Landlord (she manages to be ace and get stuff sorted from Canada so no excuses 1 star giving landlords!), but Acorn have always been there if we’ve needed help.

User

ACORN does sterling work putting housing back on the agenda and fighting for ordinary people. Everyone should join!

User

ACORN are the one place I would go for any advice regarding housing issues.. in fact any issues! Everything that is ACORN is for the good of everyday people like you and me. Fighting for the rights of all and always with a warm and welcoming attitude.

User

ACORN are doing excellent work, not least by providing a handy place for arsehole landlords in Bristol to out themselves- simply check the 1 star reviews of ACORN here. If your potential future landlord has rated Acorn 1 star, then avoid if you can. If you can't, join Acorn and get ready to stand up for yourself...

Well played Dick, you've clearly rattled them, keep it up!
