Acorn Glade – Bluebell Log Cabin
I have just spent a weekend away in Bluebell Log Cabin at Acorn Glade.
What a wonderful relaxing, get away from it all retreat. Acorn Glade is a small glamping site that has a log cabin, 2 yurts and a gypsy caravan. Bluebell Cabin had everything you need to make your stay comfortable without taking away from the back to nature/camping aspect. There was a wonderfully comfortable double bed, wash stand, small camping stove to make a cuppa, chairs, table, log wood burner all wonderfully decorated with little extras and fairy lights, and seats and tables outside opposite the lake. There were lots of added extras that made the stay special, like the cute fairy doors in some of the trees surrounding the lake and the ‘surprise’ on the island in the centre of the lake.
The chicken shed (which does not have live chickens I might add) is a purpose built wooden building with full mod cons – Shower room and separate wc and shower and wc combined, all tastefully decorated and fully functional with mains hot water and electricity, even extras like hand wash and towel supplied and equally as good as my bathroom at home, the kitchen is fully equipped with fridge and cooking facilities and ample crockery and cutlery etc.
Acorn Glade have managed to combine the luxury of good cooking and shower facilities’ with the back to nature aspect of the cabins and yurts. There is a communal fire pit to sit around in the evening and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine or beer or whatever takes your fancy.
I personally retired to my cabin after an enjoyable evening round the fire pit, made myself a cup of tea (supplied) and lit the log burner (more for effect than necessity) and snuggled down to read my book in the peace and quiet, and ‘oh’ the quiet, as the saying goes ‘the sound of silence’ and that’s exactly what it was, I slept soundly right through the night and had the best few nights sleep I have had for a long long time.
During the day, there are lots of things to do round and about, there are endless walks, a good pub, and small shop in the village, a little further afield there are quaint villages and towns and of course the city of York not too far away.
If you are looking for something different in a get away from it all break, I can thoroughly recommend Acorn Glade. I can’t wait for my next visit.

Beautiful, relaxing weekend. Fantastic location for seeing the surrounding area including York & Beverly. Friendly, knowledgeable owners.

What was meant to be a three night break ended up being one due to work commitments, but still very worth going and nothing was too much trouble. The yurt was spotlessly clean as were the facilities.
There was the option of cooking in the kitchen facility or the local pub which was my choice, which again was excellent.
Would highly recommend this for a totally relaxing break in very tranquil surroundings, hope to return again for the full weekend!
