Great news for our guests who like to take their dogs on holiday with them and visit castles!
Bamburgh Castle has just announced that it will be dog friendly! 🐾This mean's, you can wander around the grounds with your dog (on a lead 😉).
From today, dogs will be able to explore the castle’s extensive grounds on leads with their owners.
... Although not permitted in the castle’s state rooms or Clock Tower Tea Room (except for assistance dogs), a special dog-friendly area in the Victorian Stables will be available.
I can't wait to take Rollo, we usually just go to the beach and admire the Castle views.

Tomorrow I’ll be joining Lundgren Tours along with fellow friends Breaks for 2 and Northumberland EATS, Northumberland Dog Friendly for their first tour of the season in Alnwick.

Wow!! Family weekend away for my 30th Birthday. I absolutely love this lodge as did all my family. Everything in lodge was spotless. Nicola and mel had everything you could possibly need inside lodge and felt like home from home with such comforts! I know I will be returning again and again as i loved it! I was so happy to have a lodge with a hot tub (which was looked after everyday) this place is amazing and I highly recommend it to everyone. I was even welcomed by a box of goodies and cupcakes for my birthday which I thought was so lovely! The lodge was a total sun trap and I got to wear a summer dress in October!! � Thank you again and I will definitely see you all again soon... recommend to everyone.

We just had a brilliant 4 night break at forget me not lodge which defiantly lived up to its name. We all had a great week very homely and the dogs also loved it too. Oh and the teens in the group really appreciated the blue tooth sound system and the hot tub �

We have stayed at Felmoor Park quite a few times and have now stayed in Acorn Leisure lodges 3 times, Stag Lodge, Woody's Retreat and Woody's Lodge - we loved them all! Each and every one is so well equipped and everything you require is provided. A lovely welcome basket is much appreciated! Mel and family have thought of all the little touches that make their lodges home from home. We absolutely love the hot tub and when we visit in the summer months the patio areas are brilliant to relax in. Felmoor Park is so well situated for the gorgeous places around the area - we love Druridge Bay to walk our dog and we always make a visit to the Running Fox in Felton for Afternoon Tea. Acorn Leisure lodges are brilliant, I'll be in touch soon Mel to book another visit.

We have literally just left woodys retreat where we have had an amazing family break ! ... Immaculate accommodation and being a family business every little added extra was thought of ! (Including a lovely welcome hamper complete with prosecco)! Kids and adults all loved the hottub and all situated in the heart of beautiful northumberland xx Was lovely to meet Nicola and Mel in person ! We will be back love the King family (from Loch Lomond area Scotland ) x

We have had a fantastic time staying at Woody's Retreat. The place itself is so beautiful and peaceful. My partner and daughter particularly loved the hot tub and spent alot of time having fun in there. The surprise welcome hamper was lovely and very thoughtful. We will definitely be going back. We booked Stag Lodge as a surprise for my friends 40th back in March. Unfortunately The Beast from the East had other ideas so we rescheduled for May. During the whole booking and rearranging process Mel was so helpful and I couldn't fault the company at all. Even her dad ringing me with updates after he'd been laid in the freezing snow trying to get the lodges habitable!!

So fast forward to May and we were not disappointed! The lodge was easy to find following Mel's instructions. The fenced in decking was ideal for our spaniel Willow to roam about at her own will. The outside seating area was perfect and the secluded hot tub area was brilliant. The lodge itself had everything you could wish for with the added touch of ice already made in the freezer ready for those G&T's on the deck.

The lodge was immaculate. Beds and furniture really comfortable. Honestly I could rave about the weekend forever. We will most definitely be back. xxx

This was our third time staying with Acorn Leisure and we keep going back because Mel, Nicola and Michael are lovely and so welcoming. There is always a gift basket on arrival (proscetto for me and sweets for the husband and kids) which is much appreciated and the hot tubs are serviced daily without disruption. We have a little boy with autism and I have to say they are great with him, decking area is all enclosed and has a gate which we take string for to tie it up so he can’t get out and they completely understand although it’s sometimes difficult to get in to do the hot tub � thanks guys � Stacie, Dan, Harry and Ellie xxx

Stayed at Stag Lodge last weekend and was absolutely amazing. Lodge was so clean and modern and had everything you could imagine including an amazing hot tub, coffee machine and Sky TV.... Couldn't recommend this place enough and will definitely be back soon.

Spent a week in Woody’s Retreat. What a great little lodge this is. It had everything. The hot tub was excellent. The welcome hamper was a nice surprise as well. Great location for trips out to Alnwick, Seahouses etc. Would definitely recommend it. Thanks Mel and Nic x

Just wanted to post a thankyou to all involved at Acorn Leisure. My husband and I along with our French bulldog Oscar had a lovely time. The facilities were first class and we could thoroughly recommend Woody's Retreat as an ideal location for exploring Northumbria. Being able to bring our dog made all the difference to us making the most of our holiday.

We have rebooked to stay at Woody's Lodge in May 2017 where we will be bringing other family members , we can't wait to return and continue our adventures.

Just got back from a gorgeous week away with the family! My parents stayed in woodys lodge while the rest were in a cabin which weren't too far away from eachother. But we all came together to enjoy the best of both worlds! I would Highly recommend these types of holidays. Our 18 month old twins loved it! Never known them to be so tired after all the running around, even our husky/lab cross won't move from his bed after the amazing walks he had. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather which made the hot tub even more spectacular! What a perfect holiday!! The cabin and lodge were breathe taking! The views were stunning! And if you get the sunsets, it just tops the holiday off! I wish I could afford to buy one of the log cabins or even one of the lodges though! Maybe if we have a lottery win lol. The Corn family were so friendly and easy to talk to which made our holiday even more enjoyable. Will definitely be telling all of my friends about this holiday as it was just amazing xx

Just back home from a fantastic week in Woody's Retreat. The facilities were excellent and the hot tub was especially welcome as the weather was pretty decent all week. We would highly recommend as an excellent base for exploring Northumberland and hope to see you again in the future! Extra points for the welcome pack too, a really brilliant surprise :)

Just back from 5 days at Woody's Retreat. Had a great time, with every little detail thought of, from the lovely welcome pack down to the fluffy white towels. The lodge is amazing and there was so much thought put in to it, catering for all needs. Loved the decking area and the hot tub, along with the lovely peaceful surroundings, we would definitely return.

I cannot not recommend this place highly enough and I've many friends looking to book after my excitement, boring them the death with my stories I suspect �. But it was just wonderful. Everything is catered for and I promise you will not be disappointed with the accommodation, the amenities, the park and all the beautiful surroundings. I cannot leave a review without mentioning the bedding, it's hotel quality and it was heaven! Mel and Nicola are just wonderful (not forgetting Michael). We will be back very soon xxx

Having grown tired of the expense of Center Parcs, we looked for something similar but closer to our home in the North East. After some research the cabins at Felmoor Park seemed to fit the bill. We have two children and a dog and liked the idea of being away from crowds in a log cabin. We stayed in Woody's Lodge which had a sunken hot tub, three bedrooms and TVs in each room. The lodge had everything we could possibly want, including TVs, Sky, video and board games along with evey facility you have in your own home. The cabins are owned and managed by a family who were warm and welcoming throughout. We had a brilliant time and immediately booked to return in the Summer.

Had an amazing time in Stag lodge. The lodge is really well appointed, and has absolutely everything you need. Two bathrooms make it perfect for 4 people and loads of room in the living area too. The welcome basket of goodies was amazing, and having a wi-fi dongle guaranteeing connectivity means I can sit and write this review. The hot tub is amazing, even in the cold weather it is a glorious relaxing treat. Thanks Mel and all the gang for looking after the lodges with such care. Perfect for a short or longer break to discover Northumberland.
