Acrenergy

In partnership with farmers, AcrEnergy develops, builds, operates & maintains biogas plants that make use of organic agricultural waste including lifestock manure, fruit & vegetable waste as well as energy crops to generate biogas. Biogas can either be burnt to generate electricity and heat, or upgraded to ‘green natural gas’ and fed directly into the national gas grid (reducing the need for fossil-based natural gas). We are actively raising capital as well as debt for the construction as well as acquisition of plants. The target markets are power plants in the UK with up to 5MW capacity, i. e. the energy generation eligible for feed-in tariffs (FITs and RHI). The aim for AcrEnergy is to become UK’s largest independent provider of energy based on biogas. To do so the company is currently securing feedstock for a portfolio of projects to bring them to consent.
