ACT's genesis began in 2009 within the African Communities in the UK and African countries. Our aim is to support the BAME family, with the best interest of the child paramount, by Educating, Equipping, Enlightening and Empowering the BAME families. ACT offer's professional services that caters for the socio cultural background of the child and family, whilst putting the welfare of the child first in meeting any required needs, without subjugating their cultural and traditional background. The United Nation's conversion on human rights and the 1989 Children Act form the basis of the work of ACT. Our mission is to ensure that Children do not become lost within the Child Protection System and where possible, if it is safe for the child, to remain within their birth family, this clearly is in the child's best interest. Our services include assessments of family members or connected persons in the UK and other countries, training, legal and Advocacy services for affected BAME families involved in the Child Protection Process in the UK and other countries.
