- Develop a club / group network which provides quality and accessible sport and physical activity
- To promote / develop and sustain a quality, enthusiastic workforce
- To manage and develop existing and new or improved facilities
We work with a wide range of partners from the voluntary, public and private and community sector to provide a broad and diverse range of services. The aim is to widen opportunities for people living and working in the Derbyshire Dales to become more active, and by doing so, to improve their health, well-being and quality of life.

Last night was our 3rd Corporate Games. The event was a success with 9 teams from businesses from across the district taking part across Dodgeball, Rounders, Netball, Seated volleyball and an Obstacle race. The Dark Side, from Bartco managed to clinch victory from The Youthful Hopeful Athletes of YHA. We would like to thank all those who took part and assisted with the event, and look forward to the next games.

We had our first Dementia Friendly walk in Castleton yesterday with the Peak District National Park Rangers. We now have a walk each Tuesday at 2pm from 4 locations. Please tell anyone you know who cares for someone living with dementia - these walks are as short and slow as you need and are supported by several trained walk leaders allowing each walker to do their own thing - www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/dementiafriend lywalks High Peak Borough Council Peak District National Park

Today I had the pleasure of walking with the Tideswell Walking for Health Group. We went along Tideswell Dale, then Miller's Dale and hopped on the 65 bus to get back to Tideswell. We saw 6 types of butterfly, a sparrowhawk, rainbow and brown trout, orchids, celandines and red campion and so many other spring flowers. The Derbyshire Dales are amazing. I didn't have a camera but this photo is my favourite view of fields taken at Litton 2 days before www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/walkingforheal th
