Acton Homeless Concern

About Acton Homeless Concern

Charity helping homeless and disadvantaged people in Acton W3. Providing basic needs like hot meals and food, clothing, sleeping bags. Offering support accessing services like housing, benefits, healthcare. All the free services are provided by Acton Homeless Concern in two daily drop-in centres in Acton - Emmaus House and The Damien Centre. Our mission is to provide advice and support for those who need shelter and hope and we seek to bring greater understanding and acceptance of clients in the wider community and make everyone feel welcome. We couldn't operate without our trained volunteers and we are enormously grateful to them. Day in, day out they turn up to serve meals, talk to clients, sort clothing, handle deliveries and too many other tasks to mention. Since it was founded 30 years ago, Acton Homeless Concern has been at the heart of its local community. Support comes from all quarters: churches; faith organisations; schools; colleges, local businesses; charitable foundations and many individuals. These can range from helping our Christmas street collections or organising charity events like dinner dances and golf days. To all of them - THANK YOU!
