About Addison'S Disease Self Help Group

We support people affected by Addison's Disease, a rare endocrine disorder in which the adrenal glands do not produce enough steroid hormones. The condition affects almost 10, 000 people in the United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland. The Addison's Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) was founded in 1984 to support anyone affected by adrenal insufficiency. We work to provide practical support to people affected by Addison's Disease in a number of ways: - advice & information for patients & their families- emergency medical advice for patientsinformation for healthcare professionals caring for people with Addison's- lobbying the NHS, HSE, policy-makers and influencers to consider the needs of people with Addison's- medical researchWe are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (non-profit) registered with the Charity Commission. We are governed by a team of volunteer trustees and run day-to-day by our Operations Team. Registered charity No. 1179825
