This morning 2 of may favourite clients were introduced to strongman circuits. To say they were in full beast mode at 6am and 7am is an understatement. Epic job both.

Today i decided to be crossfit again..... 10 rounds of:- 500m run 10 x fat grip clean & press 10 x 24kg full kettlebell swing above head
... 57 mins dead(this is a slow time i know). Not bad as i had seriously bad shin splints 2 months ago. So doing the running pain free was an achievement.
@seanedwardsfit you sir were the reason i made it through that hell!!! So i invite everyone to have a go at it and post your times here. Lets see what a good time is.
Also check out the heart rate zones.... wow!!! Now epic food mmmm!!!!!

Hi all,
Soo many new face’s in the gym recently, well done I say it’s good that you are trying, but I will give you advice.
• Results take months….. I do mean months for you to notice, so be patient and make becoming fitter part of your routine.... • Focus on one thing at a time. Make it basic make it achievable tiny steps get big results!! • Do not believe everything you see on social media Do this work out and X Y Z will happen! It very well may but I always ask what else they are doing because doing the same thing every week your body learns and unless you change your work out regularly then you won’t see as many results. • Enjoy your session, it is your time! Don’t let life disturb it! Don’t let work ruin it! Focus on the inner you. • Most importantly sleep well your body needs to heal! • Eat clean good food, processed food is not going to help. Natural balances meals do not think if I don’t eat I will lose weight, IT DOES NOT WORK LONG TERM!!! • Want it! Buy that I mean do mean want your results, Need is… well to quote the big red man Hellboy to needy, you may find yourself trapped if you focus on need over want. I told my sons off loads for this “I need…” no you would like or you want and you will get what you want you may never get what you “need”
So this year as I am inspired by the new hot yoga at The Thames Club, my training is going crazy keep an eye out for some mental sessions this year.
I have some availability for people who want to get results; Adonis Core also now has a couple of extra trainers on the books so I can put you with a trainer for your needs.

Yesterday’s training session…… NASTY!!!!
Squats: 3 min rest 20 just bar (warm up) 6 x 70kg... 6 x 110kg 6 x 120kg 6 x 130kg 6 x 140kg 4 x 150kg 2 x 160kg
Leg press: rest was time it took Alex to do his set, partial reps to keep it focused on quads down to just feeling hamstring’s kick in. 10 x 80kg 10 x 120kg 10 x 160kg 10 x 200kg 10 x 240kg 10 x 280kg oooo next was drop set…… 10 x 300kg 6 x 280kg 6 x 240kg 6 x 200kg 6 x 160kg 6 x 120kg 10 x 80kg that sucked!!
Leg extension G,V,T 10 sets of 10 rest was time it took Alex to do his 10 stated at 30kg ended at 70kg
That was brutal, but it gave me a kick in the whole I really need to focus on my training more. as 160kg back squat??? NOT good enough!!, Though it was a PB for Alex, I then put 2 of my body builder clients through it with slightly different weights and they are in bits today…. Oh well it chest and tri’s for me and Alex today.

Today James walked in as i was warming up to train legs....... he also wanted to train legs. James learnt some valuable lessons.
Lesson 1:
When i say what ever I make you do I have done to myself. I do actually mean i have done it and heavy!!!!
... Lesson 2:
Unless you are as silly as me training legs with me is a crazy idea, cue the message from James tomorrow saying he can't walk, (i can't wait for that message as it will be hilarious)
Lesson 3
Me and my mini me Carl aka the circuit killer man always finish our sessions with body weight burn outs..... cue 20 fast jumping air squats 20 box explosive step ups 20 jumping lunges then 20 full burpees chest to floor. i did honestly hear James say many time no more i'll chunder..... did he hurl nope!!! he was just saying that to get a break we thinks.
Today's been about learning, as after 2 epic long car journeys to see my sons this weekend my body hates me so i hated it back and trained legs heavy.

Today is all about winning!!!
2 Client's have achieved amazing goals that i want to say how proud i am of their hard work and effort to change their bodies.
AJ : started his weight loss and posture realignment training 3 months ago!!!
... Weigh in and measure he has lost 3 whole stone and 5 inches of his waist line!!!!! gained 2 inches on his chest. Now its time to start developing some serious muscle!!!
James Breakspear also came to me to lose weight and get "shredded" for a holiday. all i can say is whoopsy i shredded him and he responded so well his body changed see the photo for the body transformation. a quote from James "your a right git you know that!! i went to try on all my clothes for the holiday and none fit with my new better shape!!!" now its time for the gainzzz as he wants to grow for next years holiday.

Getting ready for what could be one of the best/worst sessions of this year..... i had a week off to rest repair and re-evaluate where my training is going. So as everyone has their favorite muscle groups to hit when the start back today's session will be Chest and biceps............ Brown carbs why are they healthier than white carbs. Brown carbohydrates are considered whole grains or foods in their natural state while white carbohydrates are often refined grains. Adding more whole grains to our diets and reducing the refined carbs may lead to longer healthier lives. A whole grain has the entire kernel still intact. The kernel consists of the bran, germ and endosperm. The bran or outer shell protects the seed. It provides fiber, B vitamins and trace mine...rals. The germ’s function is to provide nourishment to the seed, if it were to sprout, thus providing antioxidants, vitamin A and vitamin E. The germ can go rancid in whole grain products and lessen the shelf life if not refrigerated. A refined grain has been processed so that only the endosperm remains, providing energy from carbohydrates and protein. Whole grains have been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers. The fiber, vitamins and minerals all have well-known attributes. Additional benefits from whole grains are antioxidants, lignans, phenolic acids, phytoestrogens, and other phytochemicals. The entire package of nutrients makes adding whole grains to our diet an important step towards good health. Whole grains are beneficial towards the control of Diabetes because they are more slowly absorbed into the body than refined grains. This leads to better blood sugar control by having the equivalent of a slow drip of carbohydrate into the bloodstream rather than a sudden rush. With a rush of refined sugars, blood glucose levels can become high very quickly which is dangerous to a diabetic. Slowing down carbohydrate absorption is beneficial for all of us because it puts less stress on the pancreas to secrete insulin. In theory this should lower the risk of developing diabetes. Diabetes is a condition where the pancreas fails to secrete enough insulin or or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired. Although fiber has no nutritional value it offers very important health benefits. Refined grains have been milled to remove the bran and germ layer, leaving just the endosperm. The grain is stripped of most of its iron content, fiber, and B vitamins (thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, and folate). This process improves the shelf life and gives products a finer texture. Manufacturers later “enrich” products by adding synthetic B vitamins and iron back into their products but in lesser quantities. Fiber is not added as part of the enrichment process.
