Litigation is expensive. . . very expensive – emotionally and financially. It is like rolling a dice. You go in as a pig and come out as a sausage. I am not sure what the exact percentages are but, around 96% of litigated cases settle. Many of these could have resolved without litigation at all. The courts demand exploring settlement. Woe betide those that don't. I often gave a single word of advice about those wanting to litigate – "don't". Negotiation before you litigate is the best way to solve dispute.
