😡There's been a spike in burglaries recently. As reported here in the Grimsby Telegraph, & with additional flurry of break ins suffered in Holton le Clay over the recent weeks, this suggests that this is a wider problem in the area.
Make sure your physical security is in place, doors and windows secured, and where you have security lighting, alarms and CCTV, make sure its switched on and in good working order.

Its nearly Christmas time, and for many its the best time of the year, with family get together, parties, twinkling lights and exchanging gifts.
Unfortunately, its also a time of year that a burglar quite enjoys too as they consider what goodies might be found under the tree.
We don't want to be killjoys, but in our trade we all too often see the fall out of a burglary and to suffer one at Christmas can be particularly hard to take. At home
Don’t leave presents under your Christmas tree if they are visible from windows or doors.
Never keep large amounts of cash at home.
Make sure you keep your doors and windows locked at all times.
Keys should always be kept out of sight and not left in doors or in view of windows.
Make your house look occupied, use a timer switch to operate lamps as it starts to get dark, leave a radio on.
Don’t open the door to anybody you don’t recognise. Not sure? Don’t open the door!
After you have opened your Christmas gifts
Burglars and robbers know that many households have new and often expensive, items in their homes following the Christmastime, especially items such as new tech such as tablets or laptops, mobile phones, music systems, televisions, cameras and other electronic equipment.
In many cases, residents make it easy for burglars to figure out which homes to target by putting boxes that identify their new gifts in plain view with their other rubbish.
Avoid becoming an easy target for post-holiday burglars/robbers by not leaving boxes for new electronics and other items outside your wheelie bin.
Break down any boxes you are throwing out and put them in rubbish bags and place them inside the wheelie bin.
With computer equipment, you might consider keeping the boxes for safe storage, shipping or moving in the future. Would they be useful as storage boxes?
Think about keeping broken-down boxes inside in a garage or loft and putting them out only on collection day

Every year the sudden longer nights coincide with Halloween and Bonfire night celebrations.
According to crime prevention agencies, Halloween and Bonfire nights in particular can see spikes in criminal activity including burglaries. Research has shown that even those with home security systems can often leave home without using them.

When choosing an alarm system, should you choose a hardwired or wireless system?
Advanced Alarms install both wired and wireless intruder / burglar alarms systems.
Traditionally difficult installations have been solved and wire free has truly come of age. Advanced Alarms uses the latest wireless technology. The new generation of wire free systems is stylish, reliable and competitively priced. Frequently, these wireless systems over entry level home automation too.
... But they aren’t always the best option. In fact, we still install as much hardwired as we do wireless, and there's good reasons for that. Pet friendly wireless tends to be less reliable than its hardwired counterpart, and likewise in areas that have a harsh environment such as conservatories. And the smart home capability that wireless alarms offer, aren't limited to the wire free systems, in fact the best solutions are often hardwired, or a mix of wired and wireless.
