About Aesthetics Research Centre
The Aesthetics Research Centre (ARC) coordinates, enables and promotes research in philosophy of art and aesthetics at the University of Kent.
Aesthetics Research Centre Description
The centre brings together faculty and postgraduate students from various departments, including History & Philosophy of Art, Film, and Philosophy, and is characterised by a strong interdisciplinary ethos.
The centre has particular research expertise around visual art forms including painting, photography and film; depiction and representation; intersections between ethics and aesthetics; beauty, taste and the sublime in 18th century aesthetics; the aesthetics of popular music; the interrelations between art and science; and topics in the contemporary philosophy of art.

BSA Synergy Conference @ University of Kent.
Alice Helliwell, David Brown and Zoe Wible have won the BSA postgraduate conference grant - their conference will be titled Beyond Human: The Aesthetics of Nature and Technology (28-29 Feb 2020). Keynotes will be Glenn Parsons and Katja Kwastek. This will be the 6th BSA PG conference, and the 3d time Kent has hosted the event.
