You've just bought a new house - what's the priority?

With a number of help to buy initial deals coming to an end, the remortgage side of things can seem like a minefield, take it from someone who personally went through it! If this is you, get in touch to look at what your best option is and lets try and save you some money!

Some great ideas here - if you love where you live but feel like there is more for your house to give, why not leverage the equity and turn your house in to your dream home? With interest rates at an almost record low, It's probably cheaper than you think!

900 houses being built up at Westwood Cross! What's your preference?

Mortgage Myth:
I can't get a mortgage, I've got bad credit.
The Truth:
... There are a huge number of lenders who looks past a piece of paper with a score on it to look at what has happened and appreciate a lot of the time it's something out of your control!
There is a much better chance of you getting a mortgage, and your dream home, than you think!

The biggest block between first time buyers and a new home is being able to save a deposit.
Guess what?... Some lenders accept a personal loan as a deposit!
If the lender is comfortable you can afford to pay both, don't let this be the thing stopping you getting on the ladder

Kind words and great feedback like this make it all worth it, congrats Adam Jemmett!

Who needs Mayfair when you've got Dreamland?

2nd massive remortgage saving in a week! Just submitted an application which will save my clients £259 per month!
Again, no change in mortgage amount, no change in term.
YOU MAY BE SPENDING TOO MUCH, it doesn't hurt to find out...

£245 a month!!!
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH MONEY SOME PEOPLE ARE THROWING AWAY!!!!!
Just had a mortgage offer issued for a remortgage - no extra borrowing, no added years on, no changes at all.
... Payment went from £1,026 WAY DOWN to £781
£245!!
Even if your fixed it's often worth coming out of the deal - rates are at an almost record low! and there's a lot of money to be saved and better spent!

Hoping to buy your first home? Wondering how much money you'll need to make it happen? Well here is the answer!
Deposit - a number of lenders will go as low as 5% - average first time buyer home is around £200,000 so allow £10,000.
Stamp duty land tax - luckily nowadays first time buyers are exempt up to £300,000 so in most cases, no need to worry about it! £0.
... Solicitor fees - varies depending on company (but you get what you pay for), I'd allow £1500.
Other varying costs - some lenders will charge fees but a number of them offer incentives to firs time buyers but if we're being over cautious I'd allow £500 for any additional costs such as survey fees.
In total for around £12,000 you could move out of your parents house or finally stop throwing money away on rent!
For some it may seem far away but any money you can save is money towards achieving something a lot of people never think they'll be able to...

Does your life insurance offer you any benefits other than peace of mind? probably not!
There are some out there which not only offer financial support should the worst happen, but also offer an up front discount as well as a number of benefits such as free cinema tickets, discounts on gym membership and even cheap British Airways flights!
It basically pays for itself!

The average UK salary is £35,423. If you had a printer that printed 35 grand a year, would you pay for breakdown cover?
OF COURSE YOU WOULD!
Then why do only 10% of people have some form of income protection?
... Imagine what life would be like if you had no money coming in... scary thought isn't it.
