Baxi 636 combi installed in Carlisle by Niall this week as part of a conversion from an old boiler and cylinder set up. Existing magnaclean re-fitted, has pipe upgraded, system flushed and new programmable thermostat fitted. 7 year boiler warranty subject to it being serviced annually.

Rid the world of another Ideal Isar combi today and fitted this Baxi 830 combi with ten year warranty and magnaclean micro filter.

Warranty/guarantee. Just a quick note on this as it seems to be a thing now... When a boiler is fitted by us we will generally register it’s warranty or guarantee with the manufacturer of the boiler. The manufacturer (who make the boiler) have their own terms and conditions independent of any of ours, and their own staff who carry out repairs free of charge within the warranty period - provided their conditions are met.
... I have lost count of the number of customers who don’t have their boiler serviced and then get rude or aggressive with us on the phone when their warranty has been voided by the manufacturer. You must have the boiler serviced annually to maintain the warranty/guarantee and it is the owners responsibility and no one else’s to arrange this. Also, we cannot carry out warranty repairs, the manufacturer must be contacted directly to arrange a visit from their engineer to diagnose and repair the fault. This obviously doesn’t apply to an installation fault for example a weeping joint etc which we would actively encourage our customers to let us know at the soonest opportunity so that it can be rectified. Also a good chance to say that anyone who is rude and/or aggressive towards myself or my staff will be removed from our customer list immediately as we have hundreds of decent, well mannered customers whom we’d rather divert our best attention to!

Little repair job from earlier in the week out at low row. Oil boiler had been running during a fuel delivery which had dredged up some water/sludge and pulled it into the burner. The old filter was also leaking oil. We removed the water/sludge and replaced the filter with a new one, replaced the tiger loop as it was cracked in several places and ran a new return line in to the boiler as the previous one had been fitted awkwardly not allowing the flexible hose to be changed. Unfortunately the water had damaged both the nozzle and fuel pump so these too had to be changed before the boiler would run again.

Worcester Bosch Heatslave 2 Oil fired combi boiler fitted this week by Niall and Will up at Canonbie. New fire valve, fuel filter and isolation valve, new bathroom radiator, new programmer and thermostat and a Worcester Greenstar Filter giving this one a 7 year guarantee.

Baxi 105HE removed in Carlisle today and replaced with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i and Worcester filter. That’s another ten year guarantee installation complete.

Heating upgrade carried out near Appleby over the last couple of days. We replaced the oil boiler with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar Danesmoor, as well as a Worcester filter and 7 year guarantee. We also replaced all of the heating controls with a new Honeywell programmer and heatmiser room thermostats. The system has had a full powerflush using our kamco machine. We’ve also pumped out the old single skin fuel tank, and replaced it with a bunded Envirostore tank, including ext...ending the concrete base and building a fire wall around three sides. Big thanks to James Falder building contractor for the tank base/fire wall work on this one.

Little shower upgrade carried out in Upperby today. The old unit was leaking as the tray hadn’t been bedded onto anything and was just sat on the floor, movement had caused it to crack and leak. Also the tiles had been stuck on with dabs which wasn’t helping. We stripped out the tray and tiles, bedded a new tray correctly, fitted mermaid boards and a new shower valve before re-fitting the enclosure and sealing it all up.

We are going to open this position for applications again, punctuality, conscientiousness, initiative and strong work ethic are an absolute necessity!

Couple of oil tank installations carried out today, a replacement of a 24 year old single skin at Canonbie. And a new installation on a new build home, you can see another in the background that we fitted in the neighbouring plot. One left from the delivery, which we will be fitting on Wednesday/Thursday as part of another job.

I received a call today whilst fitting the boiler in Carlisle that I posted about earlier, to say that this netatec combi at Wetheral was leaking badly and water was damaging the ceiling. Bizarrely enough we had already quoted for the replacement a few weeks back and the customer had just confirmed the date by email yesterday before this happened! With a replacement booked in, it would have been pointless repairing the old one so we went one better, and collected the boiler a...nd got it fitted this afternoon/evening so that our customer didn’t go the weekend with no water/heating/hot water. Worcester Bosch 8000 Life combi and Greenstar filter giving this one 12 years guarantee. Safe to say I’m knackered, not everyday you fit two boilers and I also ended up sorting a leaky pipe in stanwix on the way home. We will be nipping back to this one next week to flush and fit new controls and some general tidying up.

Combi boiler replacement carried out today in Carlisle, old Ideal Isar out and a new Main compact in. 5 years warranty which is pretty good for a budget boiler. Hot water and heating once more for this home.

First fix in and pressure tested on this four bedroom detached home ready for plaster boarding next week. Looking forward to seeing it progress and getting our second fix installed.

This weeks first major job, a bit of a task on but all up and running now and ready for a powerflush tomorrow. We removed this 24 year old Boulter camray wall mounted oil boiler from the airing cupboard and the header tank in the loft. Installed 30 metres of new flow and return pipework to relocate the boiler position to the garage/utility area. We installed a new vertical flue to keep fumes away from the patio area, and patched the roof once the old vertical flue was removed.... We’ve then installed a Worcester Bosch Greenstar Danesmoor system boiler and a Worcester filter giving the customer a 7 year guarantee. New oil filter and fire valve, new Honeywell programmer and room thermostat. We’ve also removed 8 sets of twin entry radiator valves and re-piped the radiators with new valves to the traditional opposite ends layout. All pipework insulated through the unheated areas. System getting a full powerflush tomorrow and that’s it wrapped up.

Couple of the smaller jobs carried out this week. A replacement mains water stop tap on Carlisle, and a Grant Vortex external oil combi boiler that we installed in 2016 getting its annual service.

Some plumbing and heating works carried out as part of a house renovation. New central heating system installed complete with Worcester Bosch 2000 25kw combi boiler, radiators, towel rail, bathroom suite. Awaiting tiling, just the shower and screen left to fit.
