Hello,
I would love to show you all my workshop space and explain to you what I do. I have been making myself at home at Hillside Studios since January and it has been the best decision I've made.
A lot has changed, mostly it has allowed me to start teaching jewellery making but it has also been a huge motivation to be around like-minded people whilst also getting away from the dishes and other household chores you think I'll just get that out of the way quick. Working from h...ome can be hard.
If you would like to come and visit over this weekend to support all of us at Hillside Studios it would be great to see you. I will have jewellery making experience gift vouchers to sell, perfect for Christmas (I can't believe I've used the C word in August! sorry) as well as a selection of silver jewellery.
Have a try at jewellery and ceramics. Liz Vidal Ceramics and I will also be offering small workshops throughout the weekend.
The Artists at Hillside studios are opening the doors to their studios on the 29 - 30th September 11am - 4pm
There will be lots of original artwork for sale from these established local artists.

Now, this needs patience! At least if you break a wax carved piece you can just melt some more on.

What a great first session we had on the 2 day wax carving workshop on Saturday. These are such ambitious pieces to make with absolutely no experience. We even managed to have lunch outside before it poured down with rain! I can’t wait for us to work on the silver castings.

£150 plus the cost of your silver
Do you think you would be a great jeweller in the making? Learn to design and make your own jewellery in my 2 Day Wax Carving Jewellery Workshop.
Spend the first-day discussing ideas, learning different techniques used in carving wax and producing your very own carving which will be cast for you in silver before your second session.
... The second day will be spent cleaning, texturing and polishing your final silver piece/s. Soldering findings and possibly adding an oxidised patina.
Lunch and drinks will be supplied during each day. Please let me know of any dietary requirements.
The cost of silver is not included and will be based on the current metal value, approx £2.5 a gram. As a guide, a heavy silver ring could weigh 10 grams. Your wax will be weighed and a cost will be calculated at the end of the first session.
Workshop sessions will be based in Hillside Studios near Cribbs Causeway, Bristol BS35 5RU between 10-4 with an hour lunch.

Evening Workshops 6-8.30pm, £65 plus the cost of your silver
Over the 5 hours you will learn: how to design a piece suitable for carving... Carve one of your very own designs in wax clean and prepare your silver casting Solder any jewellery findings such as chains and bails Polish or texture your finished piece of jewellery
Do you or do you know anyone who would be a great jeweller in the making? Learn to design and make your own jewellery in my 2 Evening Wax Carving Jewellery Workshops.

These pieces were made in my recent wax carving workshop. @amyshinerart and Corinna spent 2 days carving wax and cleaning up the silver castings as a start to their collection of pendants and earrings.
