About Aiming High Inclusion Cycling Scheme

The Scheme was set up in 2009, with the aim creating an all inclusive cycling scheme for families with disabled children, plus adults with disabilities.

Aiming High Inclusion Cycling Scheme Description

Simon Berry project managed the scheme form start to finish while working for KIDS, it was first researched by Rowland Clark and he left Hull City Council leaving Simon to deliver it.
Simon supported four young people from Frederick Holmes School to be on the steering group and commission board. He supported these young people to have a voice, Abby, Alice, Shane and April. The scheme offers lots of things from social interaction, inclusion, health, fun and physio. We had a open test day, which enabled people to try many different cycles before we bought them, ensuring the correct cycles where in place. The scheme has grown is size not both with bikes but also members, the original two full time members of staff are still there Paula and Lance. The park embraced the scheme and this is why the £375k investment was carried out in the park, plus this is where young people wanted such a scheme.
