Aine Homer - The Baby Reflux Lady

About Aine Homer - The Baby Reflux Lady

ALL reflux has a cause (despite what we are generally told), they are both symptoms rather than conditions in their own right and so have an underlying cause. By understanding the cause we can cure it completely

Aine Homer - The Baby Reflux Lady Description

On a mission to #EradicateBabyReflux

No parent should have to learn or understand the phrase "F* You Reflux". No infant should have to suffer constantly for months on end.

Parenthood and infancy absolutely change your life, this change should be enjoyable for the most part.

When it comes to food and your infant, I can support identifying foods in their diet (solids and or breastfeeding mums) that are causing problems rather than resolving them.

If you would like to know if I can help your baby and you, get in touch. Aine x

The support for babies with reflux and their families NEEDS to change.
I’ve been running a survey since May 2017 and have over 2,000 responses, and quite frankly, the statistics are astounding.
The call for change will be louder with many many more voices behind this survey.
... If you haven’t already contributed your voice, I would greatly appreciate it if you would take some time to add your voice. It probably won’t be time to change your experience of your healthcare system, but it will help future generations of families.
This survey is open to the world. And it’s interesting to see the data across countries.
The more data I have, the more compelling the call for change.
Please add your voice and share this with friends, clients and groups where you know Reflux, Colic and CMPA are problematic.

I don’t usually celebrate achievements and this needs to change!
I wrote The Baby Reflux Lady’s Survival Guide to change the world for families like mine. Families who felt unsupported in their efforts to resolve their baby’s reflux and pain. Families where reflux was destroying their dreams. Families where there was no break and no explanation.
There is an explanation for #babyreflux, every time.
... The book was the first step. And it was everything I knew up to the month before it was published in 2017. Yet I have not stopped learning, I’ve kept reading the research, kept working with my clients and learning through their observations and experiences.
And the Kajabi platform has allowed me to make sure you have access to the most up-to-date information, to help you and your baby through this journey quicker. And it’s helping me to train other professionals who work with #refluxbaby
So today I celebrate becoming a #kajabihero For me, this shows that the programmes I sell are needed and are helping my clients, people just like you.
So here’s me, celebrating and saying thank you to all the invisible support that makes my work possible. That makes it possible for me to truly reach a global audience who need #reflux help.
And I also should mention the wonderful ladies who contributed to getting this book out into the world... Kris Emery Editorial my editor and Ninocka design & illustration for her amazing images, “my baby”

It’s been documented over the last few years how acid suppression medications alter gut flora. And we are starting to understand how important a good diverse and strong gut microbiome is for overall health, and lifelong health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A paper in Gut (January 2019) looked at the association between antibiotics and stomach acid suppression medications in infancy with childhood obesity. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It concluded that there is a strong association. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What does this mean?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This means that we should be minimising the use of these medications AND supporting our babies gut microbiome much more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My greatest challenge is that it takes an average of 17 YEARS for published research to make its way into general medical practice so this is not something you’re likely to hear from your GP. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, this doesn’t mean that we put our children at higher risk for longer by ignoring research. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Medications absolutely have their place in managing infant reflux. However they should only be used in the short term to manage pain and minimise damage to the oesophagus while we resolve the underlying cause of every baby’s reflux. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Again, your doctor is unlikely to answer the questions of what is causing your baby’s reflux which is why I’ve created the Cause & Cure of Reflux Workshop. An online workshop where you can get the answers you need when you need them (ie NOW), and then take the action to resolve your baby’s reflux. This gets you much closer to having the conversation with your doctor about weaning your baby from their medication .... when their reflux has been resolved. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ See Workshop here https://babyrefluxlady.mykajabi.com/works hop ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #reflux #babyreflux #refluxbaby #silentreflux #refluxmedication #weaning #cmpa

No single meal or even day of food needs to be perfectly balanced. With young babies, and indeed with older children, we are seeking to balance their overall diet. Looking at this from a weekly point of view is rather pleasing. You may find days when you baby only wants to eat fruit. Another day meat. Another day just overloads on broccoli! This is okay. Look at the week as a whole.
To understand what foods your reflux baby can eat safely, how to introduce foods to minimise ...reflux flares (becuase 54% of babies with reflux get worse with solids), to understand why this happens and to equip yourself with 6 weeks of meal plans, and a process that will help you identify flaws before they become a problem, join my weaning course - Food For Babies With Reflux. Swipe ➡️➡️ Foods make reflux worse for 54% of babies.
This is because their digestive systems are just not yet able to digest all the foods they are eating.
... How do you know if Foods are affecting your baby 👶 The most common symptom is restless sleep. Babies and toddlers who move around their cot a lot at night, who cannot seem to lie still, who end up tired, even if they have been asleep.
This is because their digestive system is trying to process food it’s not ready for. This science isn’t new, it just isn’t well known. (It forms part of the course material so that you don’t miss it). And when babies eat foods that they cannot digest, the foods ferment in their tummies causing bloating, discomfort, reflux, constipation and other symptoms. Any of which make it difficult to sleep properly.
And of course there is a knock on effect of this restlessness, baby isn’t able to get deep restful sleep and so is more tired than they otherwise would be, grumpier and clingier.
The ecourse Called Food For Babies With Reflux is designed to give you all the information you need to understand what is causing your baby’s discomfort wrt food and how to manage and change their foods so that they are supported by what they eat.
This gentle approach to food for Babies makes your life easier becuase baby is happier.

It is difficult to know if your baby has reflux or not. Is their level of crying normal? Are they just tired? What amount of spit up is just spit up and what should you be worried about? This blog outlines some of the symtpoms you should be aware of... and many are surprised at how few they previously associated with their baby's reflux.

I have no idea what it feels like experience complete and total rejection from the one you love more than anything else in this universe. The life that you have created with your partner.
For my husband, my oak tree, this took its toll. And yet he remained strong and steadfast. Every day his heart being ripped apart by reflux.
Reflux almost broke us. it took us over 5 years to recover from what we lost to reflux.
... My man had to leave his most precious women every day for work. Worried about how we would cope all day. He would check in on us during the day and was lucky if I didn’t break down in tears every time, just knowing he cared.
He came home to a wife who was pretending that everything was ok, trying to be strong.
He tried to calm and comfort Sunflower; I knew it was breaking his heart. He wanted to help, so badly. He wanted to comfort her. He wanted to give me a break. And every time he took sunflower in his arms she screamed even louder just because he wasn’t me.
I cannot think what that sort of rejection day after day after day is like.
I know it has the power to break anyone.
So today, lets spare a thought for our other halves, our partners, those who often suffer in silence.
Fathers Day can be over-rated when your baby is struggling.
it used to be just another day. Full of painful screaming. Full of uncertainty of what level of discomfort was ahead of us.
Yet it gets better. It does.
There will come a time when your kids bounce into dad on Fathers Day morning with cards and presents and kisses and cuddles.
They won’t remember the pain. They love you. Your kids love you. They may not always know how to show it but you are their dad, their one and only and they love you for that.
Today, I thank you for standing by your baba. I thank you on their behalf for being the perfect father for them.
And I tell you they love you.
Completely.
Without question.
Unconditionally.

The Natural State of Your Baby’s Digestive System. It’s immature. It’s science. And when we respect its development with its ability to breakdown specific foods, then Baby is happier. Much happier.
This is the basis for the Food For Babies With Reflux ecourse (for both those starting solids and those already on them where they have made things worse).
If you’re looking for an easy life, to do what everyone else does, to have the highest level of connivence in your life, and... are happy for your baby to have highly processed foods, this ecourse is not for you.
However, if you’re fed up with not knowing what’s going on, yet you’ve seen your baby react to foods you thought they should be fine with (e.g. sweet potato 🍠) then this ecourse will give you the answers you’re looking for.
Have a look at the page via my bio to see what is inside the ecourse. Remember: price goes up at the end of the month.

Worried about Weaning? . Statistics show that 54% of babies with reflux WILL get reflux flares with solids. . Why?... . Because they are eating foods not designed for their bodies. It is that simple. Your baby’s digestive is immature. That is completely normal. And that is why some foods ferment in their gut causing more problems, wind, restless sleep, night wakings with screaming. . And it doesn’t have to be this way. . The Food For Babies with Reflux eCourse is Unlike any other weaning course out there. It is the ONLY one that takes account of this natural immaturity and selects foods more likely to be digestible. As well as showing you the PROCESS for introducing foods and changing foods to allow both your baby and you really enjoy this fun foodie time.

Hit me up in comments and stories.
What are the first questions you had about reflux? When you landed on my approach to reflux, what questions did you have that you needed to answer to help you look beyond what the doctors were saying?
Hit me up and I’ll answer them this week. I want to build a knowledge base in the highlights section for new people around here!
... And if you’re new here... what questions do you have?

🧻 I’m fed up of people saying “show me the research paper that says....” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙊The truth is not that only things “proven” by double blind placebo trials funded by the big pharmaceutical and food companies are actually true. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🙈How do you think we survived as a species before the 1900’s? ... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We did ALOT by observation, enquiry and listening to patients, clients etc. And that is no less valid today. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My #mechanicalengineering and #traditionalchinesemedicine training BOTH taught me to keep asking questions to get to the root cause. And when we are there, ask more questions:
- WHY is this happening in this way? - WHAT is the pattern that I’m seeing? - Is this UNIQUE to this situation or is it happening elsewhere too where conditions are similar? - What SHOULD be happening here to prevent the current outcome... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🧠 These are the questions of an investigative and curious mind. (I.e mine) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧩These are the questions that help us see all the jigsaw pieces and put them together.
🔬 These are the questions that lead us to discoveries and breakthroughs. And these are questions I continue to ask every day in working for my clients. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My approach brings in research from as far back as the 1920’s, through the 50’s and 90’s and I read and learn from everything I find on reflux. Much I must discard because it is funded by food corporations trying to increase the “need” for amino acid milks at £40 a tin. More I discard because they fail to take into account the fact that perhaps the medications are not the only answer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yet I read them all with an open mind. Each and every time. Always wanting to learn more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have based my approach to resolving #babyreflux wholly in good unbiased research. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, I will not be limited by it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I share my discoveries about reflux so far in The Baby Reflux Lady’s Survival Guide so that YOU can have it too. 💚
