Aintree M.C.R.C Further announcement 29/04/2019 As stated earlier that the Test Day along with the May & June Race meetings have been canceled The remaining July, August & September are still suspended All this is a result of legal action being taken by a rider that was involved in an accident last September. ... Although a disclaimer was signed on his entry form, he is still pursuing a claim. Which we understand is a substantial amount. Although the Club applied and paid for Track Certificate & Permits back in December 2018 Which have never been received Information from the ACU was nil with regards to our position to race in 2019. Even though we had been given firm assurance that we were “good to race in 2019” It was not until early March that it was deemed that we had to have a further Track Inspection. This took place on the 26th of March 2019. The Directors & Committee had a meeting where it was decided to take the action on our proposed meetings for this year. The Directors & Committee are still working hard to try and resolve these problems. Further information will follow

Update issued by The Aintree Motor Cycle Racing Club
Further to the announcement already issued by the club via the Aintree website.
The problem we have had is due to the fact that the ACU has not issued the club with a track certificate and permits required for us to race in 2019. These were applied and paid for in December 2018 at which time the regulations and entry forms were submitted for approval.
... Eventually, after many phones call the ACU organized an independent track inspection - this took place on the 26th March 2019, leaving us insufficient time to implement the various safety measures highlighted in the report. The main problems are the provision of a substantial amount of additional protection and the deteriorating track surface. Resolution of both issues is currently being investigated by the committee and directors of the club. Thank you to all the club members for your continued patience and offers of help it is well appreciated. We will update you as soon as we have any further information.

Good morning from a sunny Aintree

User

What is there not to like, great racing, great specs and you get to walk round the pit areas, top day out

User

Went for the first race of the season, was a very relaxed atmosphere. Free to walk around the paddocks. Riders happy to talk to people and just enjoying the day. The race schedule was packed and all for £10. Can't wait to go again.

User

Really enjoyed racing there for the first time in years this weekend... Proper bumpy circuit in places which gave you something to think about. I got shouted at by the lady (*microphone lady) in the holding area for being late (I'd call it very well timed myself) who later told me she'd been doing that job for 30 years. I'd say the meeting was run very swiftly to get through all those races it was a true credit to the club. My only concern is the 'very experienced' lady * with the microphone got on my wick very early on. Her very inappropriate jokes and witter drove me almost insane and the unprofessional nature of it was embarrassing. I'm sure she's a lovely lady and has devoted her spare time for decades to help idiots like us razz around the race circuit for no personal gain, but please please please pass the microphone to someone else..!

User

Lovely day out, lots of racing, friendly atmosphere and lots of people happy to talk and answer any questions you may have.

User

Just like stepping back in time to the good old days.

Friendly staff officials and competitors.

Lots of types of racing machine both old and new all providing great racing action. In my humble opinion it's one of the best days out you can have.

User

It was fantastic, the people were friendly and helpful, the location was great and so easy to find. The catering vans were a bit expensive though for a club meet. Cracking circuit and close racing.

User

I'd just like to thank everyone at aintree that helped me out. Everyone up there from the people that run it to all the riders were spot on. I've never ridden in the wet and it was only my second ever race. Everyone gave me loads of advice and always kept coming up to check on my progress. I will defiantly be coming back soon! Thanks a lot Mike brew.

User

I live very close to the circuit and often walk to the Veniue , being alowed to walk through the paddock and see the bikes and riders. Watch them as they prepare for the next , race, sit outside the bar with a burger and a pint and still see the bikes whizzing past. All in all its a great day out for the family and a must for all bike fans

User

Had a great day out at the course very relaxed great commentary best and cheapest place for food and drinks is the golf club bar well worth the entry fee of £10

User

Great little circuit. I have marshalled all over the country and to congratulate the organisers. Apart from the expected off, the whole day ran like clockwork. Well done guys. Look forward to meeting in June

User

Great little circuit, friendly atmosphere, golf course in the middle gives plenty of wide green run offs, just avoid the horse racing fences on the outside. Spectator area now much better between Country and Village.

User

Great bacon barm and tea in clubhouse staff are friendly and helpful & the racing was Ace. Cheap full days entertainment can't wack it!

User

Excellent day out with the grandkids. Brilliant racing and your able to walk round the bike paddocks. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Really well organised. Will definitely be back next year.

User

Come along and see some real grass roots racing with a friendly club and friendly people a great day out for the whole family

User

Club racing at its finest, maybe might have another go..... erm no, better keep to spectating, respect to all the organisers and of course the participants, keep up the good work

User

Been to the last two to race meets of 2016. Great events, plenty of action and the venue is nice and compact for the younger ones. The kids love going and seeing all of the great machines in the open paddock.

User

A tremendous day out guaranteed..excellent value for money with a full day of racing. Usual warm welcome, synonymous with friendliest sport on earth. With what other sport can spectators find themselves at very heart of action, chatting with skilled competitors as they work on their machines ? Look forward to new season and hope weather is kinder to organisers, who work so hard, often against elements, to make it possible. Well done to all.

User

A fantastic club that makes everyone feel so welcome. Classic Bikes, sidecars and modern bikes all welcome! They make you feel appreciated with smiles on their faces and the lucky top 4 finishers of all races receiving trophies On the day. We are looking forward to lots more racing with them in the future!

User
