At AirCamp we have a simple belief – we want to help young people understand each other through language learning. We want to build global communities of respect and tolerance through linguistic and cultural appreciation. We will achieve this by creating excellent programmes, both on-line and face to face, using the right technology and in the most resource efficient way. We will break down barriers - personal, institutional and cultural. We will celebrate our shared humanity. Language learning is what helps all of us understand other people but more than that we get to appreciate different cultures, histories and world views. Speaking other languages frees us from being alone. At AirCamp we provide language learning opportunities for children wherever they may be in the world – through every day group lessons and intensive short courses. We bring together learning and extra-curricular activities in a blend that engages and encourages. We choose native speaker teachers so that children can hear how a language sounds where it is being used, but we also recognise the world nature of languages – for example, your Spanish teacher may be from Buenos Aires or Bilbao. Using teachers from around the globe helps show children that language is not owned but shared, and through sharing, develops and changes. Every child has a right to be part of that.
